CM Mohan Yadav presented prizes to the winners of the Army Marathon.

CM Mohan Yadav said that the entire country and the world is proud of the Indian Army. Highlighting its reputation as a highly disciplined and capable force admired globally, he noted the army’s significant contributions during challenging times, solving global issues with skill and competence. Reflecting on India’s journey since independence, he emphasized the nation’s establishment as the world’s largest democracy, a source of pride for all Indians. He attributed this success to the Indian Army’s discipline, vigilance, vigour, and readiness. CM Mohan Yadav commended the army for its courage and strength, its adherence to discipline, and its invaluable role in serving the nation’s interests under all political circumstances.

CM Mohan Yadav was addressing the Army Marathon programme at Dronachal, organized under the motto ‘Fit India Run with Indian Army,’ promoting fitness, unity, and patriotism. He also distributed prizes to the marathon winners. The event featured an energetic Bhangra dance performance, adding to the enthusiasm and spirit of the occasion. Army officers presented momentos to CM Mohan Yadav as a gesture of appreciation.

Sons and daughters deserve equal rights and respect

CM Mohan Yadav praised the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for empowering the nation and lauded his initiative of celebrating Diwali with soldiers stationed at the borders. He highlighted the significance of the Army Day, observed on 15 January to commemorate General K.M. Cariappa becoming the first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army in 1949. CM Mohan Yadav appreciated the Army Marathon organized by the Sudarshan Chakra Corps as part of this celebration and encouraged its continuity. He also urged greater public participation in the marathon.

CM Mohan Yadav emphasized the equality of sons and daughters in ability, competence, and rights, advocating for equal prize amounts for women winners in the Army Marathon. He awarded Shri Rohit Verma a cheque of Rs one lakh for securing the first position in the Half Marathon Open Category, Shri Harish Rs 50,000 as the runner-up, and Shri Hukum a cheque of Rs 25,000 along with a Madhya Pradesh Tourism coupon for third place. In the women’s category, prizes were presented to Sushri Bharti Nain for first place, Sushri Kiran Sahu for second place, and Sushri Preeti Khandelwal for third place.

Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Shri Vishwas Sarang expressed his appreciation for the enthusiastic participation of Bhopal residents in the Army Marathon, which aimed to strengthen the connection between the army and the public. He also highlighted the efforts being made by CM Mohan Yadav, under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Modi, to promote sports and youth welfare. Major General Shri S.K. Srivastava provided further details about the programme.
