CM Mohan Yadav : Our government aims for continuous development
CM Mohan Yadav said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has resolved to provide permanent housing for every poor person. Nearly 4 crore permanent houses have been provided so far across the country. In Madhya Pradesh, 16 lakh beneficiaries were identified in the initial survey, and 8.5 lakh new houses have been allocated. A new survey will ensure no poor person is left without housing, reaffirming the government’s commitment to fulfilling the resolution of ‘Har Gareeb ko pucca makan’ (permanent house for every poor) in the state.
CM Mohan Yadav symbolically conducted Griha Pravesh for the beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and distributed certificates to Lakhpati Didis during the ‘Allocation of New Target under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana’ programme in Vidisha on Wednesday. He also performed Bhoomi Pujan and dedicated development projects worth Rs 177 crore 53 lakh for the region. The event was attended by Union Minister for Rural Development, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Shri Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Shri Prahlad Singh Patel, and Vidisha district’s Minister in charge, Shri Lakhan Patel.
CM Mohan Yadav emphasized that under Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s leadership, the sole focus is on continuous development. He stated that the state budget will double in the next four years, ensuring growth in every sector. Every poor individual will have access to basic facilities, including concrete housing. Special missions are being implemented for the welfare of the poor, women, youth, and farmers, with the ultimate goal of ensuring the well-being of all.
CM Mohan Yadav highlighted the significant expansion of irrigation in the state, attributing it to major river-linking projects like Ken-Betwa and Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal (PKC), along with other irrigation initiatives. The irrigated area has grown from 7 lakh hectares in 2003 to over 48 lakh hectares. Assuring farmers that every field will receive water for irrigation, he expressed confidence that Madhya Pradesh will soon surpass Punjab and Haryana in agricultural production.
CM Mohan Yadav stated that the Vidisha region is poised for rapid development. A major capital project combining Bhopal, Vidisha, Raisen, and Sehore is being planned, with a master plan to be prepared soon. He announced the upgrade of Vidisha Nagar Palika to a Municipal Corporation and the expansion of facilities through the integration of Vidisha Medical College and the District Hospital.
Madhya Pradesh Sets Record in Rural Housing Development: Union Minister Shri Chauhan
Union Rural Development Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chauhan congratulated Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav for Madhya Pradesh’s achievements in implementing the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Awas Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Janman Awas Yojana, completing projects in record time. He noted that the first road under the Pradhan Mantri Janman Yojana was also built in the state. Currently, 8 lakh 21 thousand 190 houses are being allocated to Madhya Pradesh under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural), with a similar number to be provided in April-May. The Minister handed over the approval letter for the houses to Chief Minister Dr. Yadav.
Union Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chauhan stated that a new survey for housing is underway to include poor individuals who were previously missed, with the option for self-surveys now available. Eligibility criteria for the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana have been relaxed, allowing beneficiaries with two-wheelers, annual incomes up to ₹15,000, irrigated land up to 2.5 acres, or non-irrigated land up to 5 acres to qualify. Under the fourth phase of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, villages with a population of 500 (based on the 2011 census) and tribal villages with a population of 250 will now be eligible. He informed that Rs 384 crore was previously given to the state under schemes like greenhouse, poly house, agricultural equipment, drip, etc. to farmers, now Rs 435 crore more will be given. Furthermore, Rs 312 crore 74 lakh has been allocated under the NRLM scheme to support Lakhpati Didis.
Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Shri Prahlad Singh Patel informed about the progress of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in Madhya Pradesh. He expressed confidence that, at the current pace of rural housing construction, every poor individual in the state will have a concrete house by 2026. Madhya Pradesh leads the country with 46 thousand houses constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Janman Awas Yojana for backward tribes. Additionally, a robust network of roads is being developed in tribal areas, and public facilities in rural regions are being rapidly expanded.
Visit to exhibition
CM Mohan Yadav, Union Rural Development Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chauhan, State Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Shri Prahlad Singh Patel, and District In-charge Minister Shri Lakhan Patel jointly toured the departmental exhibitions at the venue.
CM Mohan Yadav reviewed detailed information about the exhibition showcasing excellent housing projects in the district. He also visited the Horticulture Department’s exhibition based on orchard, where he tasted guavas offered by farmer Shri Than Singh.
CM Mohan Yadav and Union Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chauhan observed the products created by SRLM’s Lakhpati Didis and gathered insights on their marketing strategies. Dr. Yadav reviewed the exhibition of goods produced by the Swachh Sahayata Samuh under the Madhya Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission and engaged with members of the self-help group. He also interacted with Namo Drone Didi, learning about the income opportunities from using drones to spray insecticides on crops. Additionally, he visited the Agriculture Department’s exhibition displayed at the venue.
Rural Development Minister Shri Prahlad Singh Patel and Vidisha MLA Shri Mukesh Tandon also addressed the programme held at the old Krishi Upaj Mandi premises in Vidisha. The event was attended by various public representatives and dignitaries, including MLA Shri Harisingh Sapre, Shri Harisingh Raghuvanshi, Shri Umakant Sharma, Shri Suryaprakash Meena, District Panchayat President Smt. Geeta Raghuvanshi, Municipality President Smt. Preeti Sharma, along with other local leaders, dignitaries, villagers, and beneficiaries.
