CM Mohan Yadav : Review progress of ongoing infrastructure works in Ujjain, Indore division for Simhastha-2028 every 15 days
- Best practices of innovations in crowd management, drone-survey, artificial intelligence field in Prayagraj Kumbh management will be implemented in Simhastha
- Lal Bagh Palace and Durbar Hall Rajwada of Indore and Mamleshwar Temple Complex in Omkareshwar will also be maintained and developed

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav emphasized that Ujjain and Indore divisions will serve as the primary centers for activities during Simhastha-2028, given the presence of two Jyotirlingas in these regions, which will lead to increased movement of devotees and religious activities. Dr. Yadav instructed that the work of various departments in these divisions should be completed within the stipulated time frame. To ensure this, monitoring should be conducted every 15 days. Competent officers must hold regular meetings to review the progress of ongoing projects. Any issues requiring coordination or high-level guidance should be promptly reported to the state government for resolution. He further directed that construction agencies involved in the event’s preparations should undergo weekly monitoring to address any delays immediately. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the second meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Simhastha-2028, held at Mantralaya.
Instructions given for the development of new bus stands in Ujjain and Indore districts
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has directed that all infrastructure-related projects requiring significant time for construction should seek approval from the Cabinet Committee and complete the tender process by March 2025. Water supply and sewerage work should commence immediately. The Chief Minister also instructed the preparation of an action plan to increase the capacity of existing bus stands or develop new ones in Ujjain and Indore districts, by March 2025. Additionally, the comprehensive action plan for infrastructure development across all departments for Simhastha-2028 must be finalized by September 2025.
Along with Prayagraj Kumbh, Haridwar Kumbh model will also be studied
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that to ensure the best possible arrangements for Simhastha-2028, the Haridwar Kumbh model will be studied alongside the Prayagraj Kumbh model. A conference will be organized in Ujjain after the conclusion of the Prayagraj Kumbh. This conference will bring together companies and start-ups specializing in crowd management, drone surveys, artificial intelligence, and other innovative technologies. The objective is to formulate an action plan for adopting the most effective strategies to implement the best practices in Simhastha-2028.
Special cell should be formed for coordination with railways
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has directed the formation of a special cell to coordinate with the railways to ensure smooth movement of devotees during Simhastha-2028. He emphasized the development of suitable access roads to facilitate easy movement to the ghats. The Chief Minister stressed the importance of prioritizing sewerage systems, cleanliness, and greenery in the construction and development works in Ujjain, Indore, and Dewas. To enhance the convenience of tourists, he instructed the preparation of an action plan for upgrading existing dharamshalas. The Chief Minister also highlighted the need for strengthening administrative structures in various departments. He directed that expansions be carried out immediately, based on the requirements, to effectively manage the preparations for Simhastha-2028.
Simhastha, a festival to revive the centuries-old Sanatan tradition – Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya
Urban Development and Housing Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya said that Simhastha is a festival to revive the centuries-old Sanatan tradition. Arrangements should be developed in a coordinated manner in Indore, Ujjain and Dewas areas for the movement and convenient accommodation of the devotees coming in Simhastha-2028.
Work is going on for continuous water flow in Kshipra river
During the meeting, it was informed that in the first meeting of the Cabinet Committee, 19 projects across the departments of Water Resources, Energy, Public Works, Culture, Archaeology, and Urban Development and Housing, with an estimated cost of Rs 5,955 crore, were approved. Key updates included the ongoing scheme for ensuring a continuous water flow in the Kshipra River, the construction of proposed barrages on the Kshipra and Kanh rivers, the Kanh River diversion project, and the current status of ghat construction. Progress reports were also presented on several significant projects, including the construction of stone statues in the Mahakal Lok Corridor, the widening of the six-lane Indore-Ujjain road, improvements to major roads in Ujjain and the sewerage project for Ujjain city.
Works of Home, Tourism, Culture and Urban Development and Housing Department approved
The Cabinet Committee approved 56 works of Home, Tourism, Culture and Urban Development and Housing Department costing Rs. One thousand 451 crore. These include Composite Control Room Ujjain, new police station building, Integrated Command and Control Center Khandwa, along with police residences, police stations, transit hostels and camps, barracks etc. to be built in Ujjain, Khandwa, Dewas, Indore, Agar-Malwa, Khargone to be built under the Home Department. Under the Urban Development and Housing Department, approval has also been given to the widening work of 5 roads important from the point of view of traffic during Simhastha.
Narmada Resort in Maheshwar, a new hotel in Omkareshwar, tourist facility centre in Mandsaur will also be developed
The Cabinet Committee approved the upgradation of Hotel Maharajbada The Heritage, Grand Hotel, Kshipra Residency, and Hotel Ujjaini in Ujjain under the Tourism Department, the upgradation of tourist facility center in Mandsaur and development of passenger facilities in Indore, Ujjain, Omkareshwar and Maheshwar under Omkareshwar Circuit Development. Approval was also given to Narmada Resort Maheshwar, Choral Resort Indore, the construction of a new hotel in Omkareshwar, and the upgradation of Hotel Avantika in Ujjain. Approval was also given to the upgradation of Lal Bagh Palace Complex Indore, maintenance and development work of Darbar Hall Rajbada Indore under the Culture Department, development of Mamleshwar Temple Complex located in Omkareshwar and development and maintenance work of Veer Durgadas Ji’s Chhatri located in Ujjain.
