CM Mohan Yadav said that Madhya Pradesh is currently undergoing a phase of rapid development, and no corner of the state will remain untouched by its progress. There will be no shortage of funds for developmental works. Alongside activities related to water conservation, the state government is also advancing irrigation facilities. Our government is committed to ensuring permanent irrigation infrastructure in every village of the state. The river-linking campaign is a major step in this direction—two large river-linking projects are already underway, and work on a third project is being coordinated with the Government of Maharashtra.
CM Mohan Yadav was addressing a public interaction under the Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan and laying foundation stones and inaugurating development works in Divyagawan, Sirmaur Assembly constituency, Rewa district, on Thursday.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister inaugurated five development projects worth ₹50.73 crore, including the Government Birsa Munda College in Divyagawan (approx. cost ₹6 crore), and performed bhoomi-pujan (foundation stone laying) for two other projects. He also inaugurated 501 newly constructed farm ponds in Rewa district, built at a cost of around ₹7 crore under the Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan.
The Chief Minister emphasised that this “development yagya” (sacred endeavour) will not pause or stop. He urged the local villagers to actively support the government in developmental activities.
CM Mohan Yadav also made several announcements including Construction of a new college building in Baikunthpur, Establishment of a Sandipani School in Chaukhandi, Upgrading Janpad Panchayat Jawan to the status of a Municipal Council, Connecting selected village groups in Janpad Jawan through canals under an irrigation scheme, Sanctioning funds for the construction of a stop dam, and Formation of a separate Gram Panchayat for three proposed village groups in the region.
Inauguration of the Same College He Had Approved as Higher Education Minister
Expressing joy, CM Mohan Yadav shared that as the then Higher Education Minister, he had approved the college in Divyagawan, and now, as Chief Minister, he was inaugurating it. The college currently serves 3,000 students, 80% of whom are daughters. He assured that the government would make every possible effort for the all-round development of sisters and daughters. As many schools and colleges as necessary will be established for their education.
He added that apart from providing textbooks, uniforms, bicycles, laptops, and scooters, the government is also arranging quality coaching for students.
501 Farm Ponds to Increase Irrigation Coverage in Rewa
CM Mohan Yadav reiterated the government’s commitment to enhancing farmers’ income. Madhya Pradesh is the only state in India implementing three major river-linking projects—Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal (PKC), Ken-Betwa Link, and the Tapi Basin Mega Recharge Project. Water conservation works are being carried out across the state under the Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan. The 501 newly inaugurated farm ponds in Rewa will expand the irrigation area and improve crop yields. Dr. Yadav assured that the government is fulfilling all its development commitments to the letter.
To increase milk production from 9% to 20%, the government is actively promoting cow rearing. Under the Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Kamdhenu Yojana, cattle rearers will be provided subsidies. The government will also start purchasing cow milk to support livestock farmers.
Under the scheme, farmers can keep between 25 and 200 cows, and eligible beneficiaries will receive up to a 25% subsidy.
