CM Mohan Yadav has announced that Balram Jayanti on August 14 and Shri Krishna Janmashtami on August 16 will be celebrated across Madhya Pradesh with full enthusiasm and traditional fervour. On this occasion, statewide cultural and devotional programs will be held, highlighting the life stories, teachings, and contributions of Lord Balram and Lord Krishna for the welfare of society. Special events will be organised at selected temples across the state, with active participation from educational institutions—universities, colleges, and schools—as well as local literary, social, and cultural organisations.
CM Mohan Yadav reviewed the preparations for Haldhar Mahotsav and the appearance celebrations (Prakatotsav) of Leela Purushottam during a meeting held at the CM’s residence on Wednesday. He received updates on the planned programmes across the state under the Krishna festival celebrations and instructed that all events be well-organised and finalised with proper planning.
The meeting was informed that a detailed calendar of events has been prepared for the celebrations of Balram Jayanti (August 14) and Janmashtami (August 16). Special events will be held at sacred sites associated with Lord Krishna’s presence and key life events, including Sandipani Ashram in Ujjain, Narayana Dham, Amjhera, Jamgarh, and Janapav, among others.
Special Programme at CM Residence
A special program will also be organised at CM Mohan Yadav ’s residence in Bhopal. On this occasion, children from various districts—dressed as Bal Gopal (child Krishna)—will come together on a single stage. The Department of Culture and Tourism will collaborate with a range of artists to enhance the cultural vibrancy of the celebrations.
Present at the meeting were Public Relations Commissioner and Secretary Dr. Sudam Khade, Secretary to the Chief Minister and Managing Director of the Tourism Development Corporation Shri Ilaiya Raja, Chief Minister’s Cultural Advisor Shri Ram Tiwari, Director of Culture Shri M.P. Namdev, along with other concerned officials.
