CM Mohan Yadav emphasized that agriculture in Madhya Pradesh has become a profitable venture due to continuous innovations and reforms. Speaking at an event at Samatva Bhavan (CM’s residence) in Bhopal, where he addressed a study delegation from the National Defence College (NDC), Dr. Yadav highlighted how the state has surpassed Punjab, Haryana, and other states in agricultural development.
CM Mohan Yadav elaborated on the progress made in agriculture and cooperative sectors, particularly in irrigation. He noted that in the financial year 2002-03, only 7 lakh hectares of agricultural land in Madhya Pradesh were irrigated. Today, the state has expanded irrigation facilities to over 55 lakh hectares, ensuring better productivity and sustainability for farmers.
To further support the farming community, the Madhya Pradesh government has set an ambitious target of distributing solar pumps to 30 lakh farmers in the next three years. Additionally, the state will purchase surplus solar energy generated by these farmers, providing them with a dual source of income. Furthermore, the government is offering electricity connections to farmers at a nominal cost of just ₹5.
CM Mohan Yadav also emphasized that Madhya Pradesh leads the nation in providing the most affordable electricity. He pointed out that even the Delhi Metro runs on power supplied from Madhya Pradesh, demonstrating the state’s commitment to energy efficiency and sustainable development.
A 16-member study delegation from the National Defence College, New Delhi, visited Madhya Pradesh as part of their study tour on “National Security and Strategy.” Representatives from five friendly nations were also part of this delegation. The NDC has organized eight such study groups across the country, with one group focusing on the ‘Agriculture and Cooperatives’ sector in Madhya Pradesh. The state government entrusted RCVP Noronha Academy of Administration and Management with conducting this study tour.
The delegation conducted field visits across various districts of Madhya Pradesh to examine the advancements in agriculture and cooperative sectors. Their study revealed significant progress in both areas, with government policies leading to increased farmer prosperity. The delegation also acknowledged the crucial role of self-help groups in empowering women and fostering economic self-reliance at the grassroots level.
During the interaction, CM Mohan Yadav encouraged the study delegation to visit Ujjain and witness the grand development of the Shri Mahakal Mahalok. He described how the government has revitalized the centuries-old Shri Mahakal Temple, creating a spiritual and cultural landmark that beautifully depicts the divine presence of Lord Shiva, his wedding with Goddess Parvati, and other significant events, including the 108 dance postures from the Tandav Mantra.CM Mohan Yadav emphasized that Shri Mahakal Mahalok is not only a symbol of faith but also an invaluable cultural asset for Madhya Pradesh.
The NDC study delegation, led by Shri Mukesh Agarwal and Shri Prakash Praveen Siddharth, engaged in a meaningful discussion with Chief Minister Dr. Yadav. They shared their firsthand experiences from field visits, expressing admiration for the rapid development and transformation in Madhya Pradesh under CM Mohan Yadavs leadership.
The delegation praised the state’s efforts in agricultural growth, cooperative success, and livelihood development through self-help groups. They observed a remarkable social transformation in Madhya Pradesh, where government initiatives, coupled with active public participation, are driving economic and social progress. “We have witnessed real change here. People are scripting their own success stories with the support of the government and administration,” said one delegation member.
