CM Mohan Yadav said that under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India is moving swiftly on the path of development. Embracing the ethos of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam—the belief that the world is one family—India is setting an example of tolerance and harmony. At a time when much of the world is engulfed in conflict, India is upholding its inclusive cultural values by spreading the message of ‘live and let live’ Chief Minister Dr. Yadav made these remarks while addressing the Bhoomi-Pujan and tree plantation ceremony for the development of a city forest named after Maa Bagiya in the Kesarbagh area of Indore on Friday.
CM Mohan Yadav said it is a meaningful coincidence that the ‘Ek Bagiya Maa Ke Naam’ campaign is being launched on the first day of the holy month of Shravan—a day marked by devotion and reverence for nature. Speaking at Kesarbagh in Indore, he said the initiative reflects a collective pledge to make Indore greener and more beautiful. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav emphasised that the people of India have always shared a deep bond with nature, often seeing divinity in natural elements. Highlighting the importance of trees in combating climate change, he noted that plants play a vital role in reducing carbon emissions. “Trees are like sages—they give more to nature and ask for little in return,” he said. He also recalled the pioneering work of Indian scientist Dr. Jagdish Chandra Bose, who scientifically proved that plants have life. On this occasion, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also planted a mango sapling in Kesarbagh.
Urban Administration and Housing Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya informed that the Cloth Market Association has generously provided over four acres of land in Kesarbagh for plantation, where more than 51,000 saplings will be planted. The area will be developed into the state’s largest and most beautiful garden, featuring a variety of fruit-bearing and medicinal plants. Highlighting past achievements, Shri Vijayvargiya said, “Last year, we created history by planting over 12.40 lakh saplings in the Revati Range in a single day. Today, all those saplings are thriving.” He added that during this monsoon season, 7 lakh saplings have already been planted in Indore district, and in the coming days, various social organizations will join in to plant thousands more.
Mayor Shri Pushyamitra Bhargava praised the state government’s efforts under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav. He said Chief Minister Dr. Yadav is a true nature lover who is consistently working towards environmental protection, particularly in the areas of water conservation and sustainability.
Muni Shri Acharya Vibhov Sagar Maharaj emphasised that the environment is the foundation of life and the guardian of culture. He said that where there are trees, rainfall is more abundant, and therefore, every individual should take the responsibility of planting at least one tree in their courtyard.
Water Resources Minister Shri Tulsiram Silawat, Member of Parliament Shri Shankar Lalwani, MLAs Shri Madhu Verma, Shri Mahendra Hardia, Smt. Malini Gaur, Sushri Usha Thakur, Shri Golu Shukla, and other dignitaries were present in the program me.
