CM Mohan Yadav underscored Bhopal’s significance as the capital of Madhya Pradesh, emphasizing its accelerated growth. He highlighted the successful hosting of the Global Investors Summit and called for more high-profile events in the city. Bhopal’s urban infrastructure is continuously expanding, with improvements in housing and essential amenities. The metropolitan region is set to grow, integrating Sehore, Vidisha, Narmadapuram, and Raisen. The government remains committed to equipping the city with advanced facilities, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India by 2047.
CM Mohan Yadav described Bhopal as one of the country’s most beautiful and cleanest capital cities. He noted that Prime Minister Modi’s overnight stay in Bhopal during the summit provided valuable insights to investors and entrepreneurs. The government aims to establish a new urban development model by linking Bhopal with five other cities, positioning both Bhopal and Indore as major metropolitan centers. A 25-year development roadmap is in place, focusing on sanitation, drinking water, sewage systems, and road infrastructure. Special grants under the Smart City Project will ensure permanent housing for underprivileged citizens.
Inauguration of New Government Housing
Speaking at the inauguration of 364 newly constructed government housing units in Tatya Tope Nagar (TT Nagar) under the Bhopal Smart City Development Corporation project, CM Mohan Yadav announced that the complex would be named after Bharat Ratna Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Built at a cost of ₹116.26 crore, these G-type housing units mark the project’s first phase. The Chief Minister distributed house keys to beneficiaries, including Smt. Seema Tiwari, Smt. Kalpana Gurjar, Smt. Sangeeta Uike, and Shri Raghvendra Singh. He directed the Bhopal Municipal Corporation to complete the second phase’s F-type housing units within two to three months.
Extending his greetings for Rangpanchami, CM Mohan Yadav linked Indian cultural traditions with nature, emphasizing the deep-rooted connection of Sanatan festivals to the environment. He remarked that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, India is experiencing its ‘Amrit Kaal’—a period of growth and optimism. He expressed confidence that families moving into these smart city housing units would enjoy improved living conditions.
Reiterating the government’s commitment to providing permanent housing, Dr. Yadav emphasized various central and state housing schemes that offer subsidized interest rates on home loans for both urban and rural areas.
Employment, Infrastructure, and Economic Growth
CM Mohan Yadav highlighted the government’s focus on welfare and employment generation over the past 15 months. Over the next five years, 2.5 lakh positions will be filled in various departments. Starting April 1, government employees will receive allowances as per the 7th Pay Commission, and two increments of 4% Dearness Allowance (DA) were already approved last year. Efforts are also being made to ensure timely promotions for government employees.
CM Mohan Yadav reaffirmed the vision of a ‘Developed Madhya Pradesh’ by 2047. The state’s per capita income has grown significantly—from ₹11,000 in 2002-03 to ₹1,52,680 today. The recently announced ₹4.21 lakh crore welfare-focused budget is projected to grow to ₹7 lakh crore in five years and ₹250 lakh crore over the next 25 years. By then, the per capita income is expected to reach ₹22 lakh annually, underscoring the government’s commitment to economic prosperity.
Urban Development and Housing Minister Smt. Pratima Bagri emphasized the state’s focus on housing for economically weaker sections and other social groups. MLA Bhagwandas Sabnani acknowledged the long-awaited housing project for government employees, appreciating CM Yadav’s commitment to people-centric development.
Promoting Sustainability
After the event, CM Mohan Yadav launched Bhopal’s first Reduce, Reuse, Recycle (RRR) Vehicle, an initiative by the Bhopal Municipal Corporation. This vehicle will collect unused office papers and exchange them for recycled products, promoting environmental sustainability.
