CM Mohan Yadav said that self-help groups are powerful means to enhance the economic and social status of women. He said that these groups are not only fostering women’s empowerment but are also enabling women to achieve financial independence. Women associated with self-help groups play a significant role in the journey toward making Madhya Pradesh self-reliant. Empowered women, he added, are the foundation of a prosperous state. Dr. Yadav was speaking at the Self-Help Group Conference cum Nutrition Fortnight program held in Kukshi, Dhar district, on Wednesday.
CM Mohan Yadav highlighting the ongoing efforts for women empowerment in the state, said that women are being given 50% reservation in civic body elections. Additionally, efforts are underway to provide 33% reservation to women in the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections by 2029. He also mentioned that registration fees are being waived when land or property is registered in the name of a woman, further supporting their economic independence.Dr. Yadav said that the Ladli Behna Yojana has played a vital role in strengthening women financially. He praised the women associated with self-help groups for their outstanding contributions across various fields. The Chief Minister added that, under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, women across the nation are becoming more empowered. He proudly noted that today, a woman from the tribal community holds the highest constitutional position as the President of India.
CM Mohan Yadav said that in Indian culture, goddesses have been revered for thousands of years, with nine days of dedicated worship during Navratri. India stands apart as the only nation that regards the country itself as a mother.He added that the state government is celebrating Rakshabandhan by depositing Rs. 1,250 every month into the accounts of Ladli sisters. All eligible beneficiaries will continue to receive this amount regularly. Dr. Yadav emphasized that when money reaches the hands of women, it contributes to savings and financial stability within families. He assured that the government is fully committed to empowering sisters and daughters economically, as this is a step toward strengthening both families and society as a whole.
CM Mohan Yadav said that, according to Indian belief, 33 crore gods and goddesses reside in the cow, and the aim is to transform every household in the state into a Gokul. To boost milk production, the state government has introduced a new Gaupalan Yojana named after Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. He said that cow shelters have the potential to bring significant positive changes in the lives of women across the state.The government is actively working to link women with new livelihood opportunities through cow shelters. Women from self-help groups will now be associated with these shelters and will be engaged in preparing dairy products such as sweets, rabri, and kalakand. Sweet shops run by women and daughters will be established, leading to increased income and financial empowerment.
CM Mohan Yadav said that the state government, committed to women empowerment, will provide an additional incentive of Rs 5,000 to women working in textile factories. Alongside this, company owners will pay Rs 8,000 as wages, ensuring a monthly income of Rs 14,250 for each woman worker.He emphasized that the government is working round the clock for the welfare of every section of society. A recruitment drive for 1 lakh government posts has already been initiated. In the coming days, over 4 lakh officers and employees will receive promotions as a special gesture from the state government. Additionally, 2.5 lakh job opportunities will be created over the next five years.Dr. Yadav reiterated that the government’s responsibility is to serve all citizens—rich or poor. He highlighted that the per capita income in Madhya Pradesh has increased, and several initiatives have been launched to support education. These include the free distribution of books and notebooks in schools, and schemes to provide bicycles, scooters, and laptops to meritorious students.He affirmed that under the current government, every unemployed individual will be provided with employment. The state is actively working for the welfare of the poor, farmers, youth, and women. Dr. Yadav concluded by expressing his vision to make Madhya Pradesh the number one state in the country.
CM Mohan Yadav said that Union Road Transport Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari will inaugurate the four-lane road connecting Dhar to Dewas on April 10 at Badnawar in Dhar district. Along with this, the state will receive new development projects worth over Rs 5,000 crore. Additionally, national highway projects constructed at a cost of Rs 30,000 crore will also be inaugurated.He further informed that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will visit Shri Anandpur Dham on Friday, April 11. Following this, on Sunday, April 13, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah will be in Bhopal to attend a cooperative conference. During the event, a contract will be signed with the National Dairy Development Board to accelerate cooperative initiatives in the state.
Chief Minister observed the nutrition exhibition
CM Mohan Yadav observed the exhibition of food items prepared from Shrianna during the Nutrition Fortnight by the members of the self-help group. He praised the dishes.
Women of self-help groups shared their experiences
During the ceremony, Smt. Anita Lokesh Panchal, Sarpanch of Pipaliya village, shared her experience of the stepwell (bawdi) renovation carried out under the Jal Ganga Sanvardhan Abhiyan. She said that the stepwell was previously in a very poor and unhygienic condition. However, through public support and active community participation, the water has now become clean and potable. She further expressed the Panchayat’s commitment to developing the village into a model Panchayat in the future.
Sukhli Bai, a resident of village Jhadda, while sharing her experience of the self-help group, said that earlier the condition of her house was bad but after joining Shri Sai Self-Help Group, she got a loan. She educated her children and also started a small business of her own. Now she has also learnt accounting. Her children are also educated and working on higher positions.
Union Minister of State for Women and Child Development Smt. Savitri Thakur said that if children get adequate nutrition in childhood, they will become empowered and will be able to make their important contribution in making the nation a developed nation. It is our responsibility to nourish the future of India. The present government is making every possible effort for the development of women and children.
Dialogue and review was done regarding the 7th Poshan Pakhwada program of Women and Child Development Department running from 8 to 22 April. Mainly 4 topics are being emphasized in the Poshan Pakhwada. These topics are focusing on the first thousand days of life, popularizing the beneficiary module of the nutrition tracker, management of malnutrition and healthy lifestyle to overcome obesity in children.
