CM Mohan Yadav declared that the sacred city of Jabalipuram has been blessed with the foundation stone laying of an advanced Gaushala, transforming it into a center of peace and devotion. He reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to cow protection, ensuring that no cow is left abandoned. To support this initiative, major municipal corporations and municipalities will establish Gaushalas capable of sheltering up to 10,000 cattle.
CM Mohan Yadav also announced measures to strengthen the agricultural sector, stating that the government will procure wheat at a support price of ₹2,600 per quintal and provide paddy farmers an incentive of ₹2,000 per hectare starting this month.
Speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony of the first phase of the Gaushala project in Umaria, Jabalpur—spanning 53 acres CM Mohan Yadav also inaugurated and launched development projects worth ₹187.43 crore. The event began with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, garlanding of saints, and reverential offerings to cows.
Public Works Minister Shri Rakesh Singh, Animal Husbandry Minister Shri Lakhan Singh Patel, and Scheduled Caste Welfare Minister Shri Nagar Singh Chauhan were present at the occasion.
CM Mohan Yadav highlighted that government-run Gaushalas will provide shelter for destitute and elderly cattle, with a daily allocation of ₹40 per cow. Additionally, those rearing more than 10 cows will receive government subsidies. He underscored the cultural and spiritual significance of cows in Sanatan Dharma, referencing Mahatma Gandhi’s advocacy for recognizing cows as a national symbol.
Discussing economic progress, CM Mohan Yadav stated that under Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s leadership, India is advancing towards becoming the world’s third-largest economy. He noted that while many nations gained independence alongside India, countries like Israel have preserved their cultural roots and patriotism, serving as an inspiration.
CM Mohan Yadav emphasized the state’s commitment to welfare and development programs for the poor, youth, women, and farmers. He pointed out that former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s vision of interlinking rivers to enhance irrigation is being rapidly realized. Madhya Pradesh has already secured two major river-linking projects—Ken-Betwa and Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal—and discussions are underway for a similar project on the Tapti River in collaboration with Maharashtra. The goal is to expand irrigated land to 1 crore hectares for agricultural prosperity.
CM Mohan Yadav also announced that the state budget is projected to reach ₹7 lakh crore. By 2028, over 2.7 lakh government positions will be filled, and private-sector expansion will generate employment for the youth.
Further, on February 21, the government will provide ₹25,000 each to over 90,000 meritorious 12th-grade students for purchasing laptops. Various schemes are also being implemented to uplift women, including a decision to enforce liquor prohibition in religious towns, replacing liquor shops with dairy stores.
Public Works Minister Shri Rakesh Singh also addressed the gathering, and Mayor Shri Jagat Bahadur Singh Annu delivered a vote of thanks. The Jabalpur Municipal Corporation honored CM Mohan Yadav with a memento.
The event was graced by esteemed saints, Members of Parliament Mrs. Sumitra Balmiki and Shri Ashish Dubey, MLAs, senior officials, and a large number of citizens.
