CM Mohan Yadav stressed that unemployment cannot be eliminated solely through government jobs. In a country like India, with a population of 1.45 billion, government jobs account for less than 1%. Even the nation’s largest employer, the Armed Forces—including the Army, Navy, and Air Force—employs only 1.35 million personnel. To address this, the state is working towards empowering youth through self-reliance and entrepreneurship. Moving forward, unemployed youth in the state will be referred to as ‘Aspirational-Youth (Akankshi Yuva).’
Speaking at a fireside chat session titled “How States Add to India’s Story”, organized by a private news channel in Delhi on Friday,CM Mohan Yadav highlighted that Madhya Pradesh has attracted investment proposals exceeding ₹30 lakh crore through the Global Investors Summit and Regional Industry Conclaves. These investments are expected to create employment opportunities for 21 lakh youth. Additionally, young individuals will be engaged in sectors like agriculture, animal husbandry, and skill-based enterprises.
CM Mohan Yadav proudly asserted that Madhya Pradesh is the fastest-growing state in India. The state’s current Gross Domestic Product (GDP) stands at ₹15 lakh crore, with an annual growth rate of 12%. In 2002-03, the per capita income was ₹11,000, which has now surged to ₹1,52,000.
CM Mohan Yadav further pointed out that in 2002-03, the state had only 7 lakh hectares of irrigated land, which has now expanded to 55 lakh hectares. The government is actively working towards increasing this figure to 1 crore hectares. Presently, Madhya Pradesh’s budget is ₹4.21 lakh crore, with only 10% of capital investment sourced through market borrowings.
CM Mohan Yadav affirmed that the Madhya Pradesh government is aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” (Collective Effort, Inclusive Development). He clarified that the state does not use bulldozers as a means of justice; however, illegal constructions are addressed as per municipal regulations.
CM Mohan Yadav further emphasized that while the administration works to prevent untoward incidents, swift and decisive action is taken when necessary. Under the Food Safety Act, regulations have been put in place to ensure that meat and other food items are not sold in open areas in violation of the rules.
Regarding the implementation of a Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in the state, CM Mohan Yadav stated that a decision would be made after evaluating the experiences of Uttarakhand and other states.
