CM Mohan Yadav stated that Swatantrya Veer Vinayak Damodar Savarkar was a great revolutionary, freedom fighter, thinker, social reformer, historian, poet, eloquent orator, and visionary politician of India. His contributions made him popular as Veer Savarkar. His life and contributions will be widely propagated among the people.
On Monday, CM Mohan Yadav unveiled the statue of Swatantrya Veer Vinayak Damodar Savarkar at Pragati Nagar in Indore. The event was attended by Urban Development and Housing Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya, Water Resources Minister Shri Tulsiram Silawat, Mayor Shri Pushyamitra Bhargava, MLAs Shri Madhu Verma, Shri Ramesh Mendola, Shri Golu Shukla, Veer Savarkar’s grandson Shri Ranjit Savarkar, Baba Saheb Navathe, Shri Sumit Mishra, Shri Shravan Chawda, and other public representatives.
CM Mohan Yadav said that merely remembering Veer Savarkar fills one with a sense of thrill and inspiration. He endured immense hardships and suffering to play a crucial role in India’s independence. His life is an ideal for all. Even after being sentenced to the harshest punishment of Kala Pani (Cellular Jail), he never deviated from his mission. Dr. Yadav emphasized the need to understand Veer Savarkar’s history in its true form. The government aims to present his history accurately to the public.
CM Mohan Yadav further stated that places named after great personalities should always be recognized and referred to by their names. Signboards, government correspondence, and other official activities should ensure the proper use of their names to honour their legacy.
Mayor Shri Pushyamitra Bhargava mentioned that the statue of Veer Savarkar at the Pragati Nagar Zone Office in Rajendra Nagar, Indore, has been constructed with public support. The base of the statue has been designed in the shape of books written by Veer Savarkar, symbolizing his literary contributions..
