CM Mohan Yadav has announced that the upcoming Simhastha Mahakumbh will be celebrated in Ujjain in a grand and divine manner, with the pure, flowing waters of Maa Kshipra enhancing the sanctity of the occasion. He offered a 351-feet long Chunari to Maa Kshipra at Ramghat, accompanied by his wife, and prayed for the prosperity of the state.
Speaking about Ujjain’s historical importance, Dr. Yadav said that Avanti, the ancient name of Ujjain, has existed through every phase of time. This city has remained ever vibrant and has been the karmabhoomi of great emperors like Samrat Vikramaditya and Emperor Ashoka. Ujjain bears witness to many historical events and spiritual traditions. Maa Kshipra has stood as a silent witness to numerous sacred happenings, while Mokshadayini Avanti has been considered the capital of the gods. The city’s legacy is linked to eminent figures like Mahakavi Kalidas and Raja Bharthari.
CM Mohan Yadav affirmed the state government’s commitment to welfare of the underprivileged, ongoing industrial development, and attracting large-scale investments due to progressive industrial policies. Special attention is being given to education and healthcare, with a notable increase in the number of medical colleges. Traditional Indian systems of medicine are being embraced with respect. He also noted that Madhya Pradesh is a leader in water storage initiatives, and that festivals connect people deeply with nature and divinity.
Spiritual leader Swami Chidanand Saraswati praised Dr. Yadav’s leadership, stating that Madhya Pradesh is earning a new identity, and the upcoming Simhastha in Ujjain will be held in a divine and majestic form. He also lauded the evening aarti at the ghats of Maa Kshipra as an unforgettable experience.
Bal Yogi Umesh Nath Ji Maharaj, Rajya Sabha MP, said that under CM Mohan Yadav vision, the state is ensuring that the waters of Maa Kshipra continue to flow uninterruptedly. During Simhastha, millions of pilgrims will be able to perform holy baths at well-developed ghats.
Dr. Shriram Tiwari also addressed the gathering. A laser show was presented during the event, and CM Dr. Yadav honored individuals for their outstanding contributions.
Swami Chidanand Saraswati Ji Maharaj (from Rishikesh), MP Shri Anil Firozia, Minister-in-Charge Shri Gautam Tetwal, Ujjain Municipal Chairperson Smt. Kalavati Yadav, and Chief Secretary Shri Anurag Jain were also present on the occassion.
