CM Mohan Yadav has said that the Department of Science and Technology plays an important role in delivering citizen-centric services across Madhya Pradesh. He directed the preparation of a Unified Portal System that will consolidate services of various departments, making them accessible at a single platform. The portal will integrate 1,700 services from different departments to ensure seamless access for the public. To increase public awareness about the work of the Science and Technology Department, ground-level implementation must be ensured, and hoardings should be installed to disseminate information about government programs and campaigns. CM Dr. Yadav gave these directives during a review meeting of the Science and Technology Department at the Chief Minister’s residence (Samatva Bhavan) on Friday.
CM Mohan Yadav said that for the effective execution of technical operations during Simhastha-2028 in Ujjain, cutting-edge technology should be employed. He directed the MPSEDC to develop the necessary software/app and instructed the Urban Development and Housing Department to assist in this endeavor.
Drone Usage to Be Increased for Law and Order
CM Mohan Yadav stated that the state has implemented a new drone policy and emphasized the preparation of a detailed action plan for using drones to strengthen law and order control and urban traffic management. He also stressed the need to enhance surveillance and data collection capacity through drones. Officials informed the Chief Minister that drones are currently being used in departments like Revenue, Urban Development & Housing, RERA, PWD, and Water Resources for survey and monitoring.
National Workshop on “Astronomy and Indian Knowledge Tradition” on Yoga Day
In the pride presence of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, a national workshop on “Astronomy and Indian Knowledge Tradition” will be organized at Dongla in Ujjain, On June 21, as part of International Yoga Day celebrations. Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology (MPCST) and its partners at the Varahamihir Astronomical Observatory will be the host of workshop. The events will include a yoga camp, zero shadow observation, science shows, STEM workshops, lectures, and panel discussions.
State to Expand IT Parks and Boost Investment
CM Mohan Yadav noted that IT Parks have already been developed by MPSEDC in Indore, Bhopal, Jabalpur, and Gwalior. Given the favorable environment and growing interest in the IT sector, he directed that the number of IT Parks be increased and developed on a PPP model. He also instructed capacity-building of engineering colleges in the state along the lines of IITs.
Steps to Prevent Cyber Attacks
CM Mohan Yadav emphasised the need for a Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) in Madhya Pradesh to combat cyber threats. He called for appointing Chief Security Officers in all departments and conducting security audits of all IT projects, websites, and apps to evaluate data protection, standards, and risk management. He was informed that this year, 134 network attacks were thwarted by expert teams, and 72 suspicious IPs were blocked during Operation Sindoor last month.
Drone Survey Plans to Be Zone-Specific
Chief Secretary Shri Anurag Jain directed the development of zone-wise drone-based survey and monitoring plans. He also suggested incorporating cybersecurity inputs from the Home Department’s experts and preparing a technical support plan for Simhastha-2028 jointly by the Urban Housing and IT departments. He advised studying the Prayagraj Mahakumbh 2025 plan and other state policies to frame Madhya Pradesh’s own Space Tech Policy, and said that IIT Madras’ startup model could be emulated to promote a startup ecosystem.
State to Soon Have a Space Tech Policy
Additional Chief Secretary Shri Sanjay Dubey briefed the Chief Minister on the latest developments in the department. He said that stakeholders are being consulted for drafting the state’s Space Tech Policy, which will be finalized soon. He also mentioned initiatives such as cybersecurity training by MP-CERT, Narmada river mapping, EHRMS for government staff, Single Sign-On system, and a Unified Portal for citizens.
He detailed progress on the data center, AVGC labs, incubation centers, IT startups, ESDM parks, semiconductor manufacturing, and Global Capability Centers (GCCs), stating that efforts are underway to attract industries in IT and related sectors to Madhya Pradesh.
The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary to CM Dr. Rajesh Rajora, ACS Finance Shri Manish Rastogi, MPSEDC MD Shri Ashish Vashistha, Project Director Shri Guru Prasad, and other senior officials.
