CM Mohan Yadav released the Water Resources Department’s publication titled “Sadanira Jal Sansadhan – Bahti Rahe Jal Ki Dhara” at the Mantralaya on Wednesday. The launch was attended by Water Resources Minister Shri Tulsiram Silawat, Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Shri Prahlad Singh Patel, and MSME Minister Shri Chaitanya Kumar Kashyap.
The booklet documents the achievements of the Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan, a state-wide water conservation campaign conducted across Madhya Pradesh in 2025. CM Mohan Yadav commended all involved for the campaign’s outstanding impact. He stated that the preservation of rivers, ponds, and water bodies is vital for sustaining life, and this collaborative effort between the government and citizens sets a benchmark for water resource management, positioning Madhya Pradesh as a model state in this domain.
Water Resources Minister Shri Silawat highlighted that the campaign drew inspiration from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Catch the Rain” mission and followed the principle of “Water of the field should remain in the field, and water of the village should remain in the village.” Guided by the visionary leadership of CM Mohan Yadav, the initiative was carried out from March 30 to June 30, 2025, aiming to transform water conservation into a mass movement.
He noted that the campaign fostered widespread public awareness and engagement. Digital mapping, climate-resilient structures, and the effective use of financial and technical support helped establish a solid foundation for future water security. Public outreach ensured that the message “Water is life” reached across the state. The initiative significantly boosted water conservation and agricultural sustainability through community-driven projects such as:
-
Renovation of ponds and reservoirs
-
Cleaning and strengthening of canals
-
Reviving small and medium-scale irrigation schemes
-
Removal of encroachments and reforestation
These efforts led to improvements in water retention, groundwater recharge, and reduced erosion—ensuring sustainable management of water bodies.
