Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini announced that the state government has planned a major project to establish a large sunflower oil mill in Kurukshetra and Asia’s biggest mustard oil mill in Rewari and Narnaul. This initiative aims to benefit lakhs of mustard farmers across Haryana. The project will be implemented soon, ensuring that all farmers’ produce is procured at MSP. He emphasized that Haryana is the only state in the country where all crops are purchased at MSP.
CM Nayab Singh Saini made these remarks while addressing a grand event organized by the Gram Panchayat at Samani village in Kurukshetra on Sunday, coinciding with the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program. Earlier, Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi addressed the nation in the 120th episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat,’ where he congratulated the athletes of the Khelo India Para Games. Haryana players won an impressive 104 medals, including 34 gold, 39 silver, and 31 bronze. Additionally, the Prime Minister announced that International Yoga Day 2025 would be celebrated under the theme ‘Yoga for One Earth, One Health’ and urged all states to focus on water conservation.
Extending his New Year Nav Samvat greetings, CM Nayab Singh Saini announced a grant of ₹21 lakh for the development of Samani village. He assured that the state’s development projects would progress three times faster, adhering to the Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Prayas, and Sabka Vishwas.’
CM Nayab Singh Saini highlighted that the recently passed state budget in the Vidhan Sabha has been distributed equitably, ensuring comprehensive development. The government has also decided to grant ownership rights to people residing on Panchayat land for over 20 years at the 2004 collector rate. Similarly, thousands of pattidar farmers have received ownership rights over kasat land under the same policy. Moreover, the government has subsidized gas cylinders at ₹500, benefiting 17 lakh families.
CM Nayab Singh Saini spoke about the ‘Catch the Rain’ initiative, under which 2,000 ponds have already been constructed, with plans to build 2,200 more in the near future. Farmers are being encouraged to store rainwater in fields and Gram Panchayat lands to aid water conservation and lift Haryana out of the ‘dark zone.’ He noted that farmers in South Haryana have achieved higher crop yields and urged others to adopt drip irrigation and pond-based water conservation under the Atal Bhujal Yojana. The state government has proposed to the Union Jal Shakti Ministry to construct ponds under this scheme to revive 86 groundwater-stressed zones, a proposal that has been approved.
Additionally, CM Nayab Singh Saini shared that 77,000 applications were received under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in Haryana. So far, ₹151 crore has been credited to the accounts of 36,000 beneficiaries, and funds for the remaining 41,000 applicants will be disbursed soon, with further survey work already underway.
During the event, village Sarpanch Shivani and social worker Pawan Kumar welcomed the Chief Minister and presented the village’s demands. Sarpanch Shivani also honored him with a memento. A large number of villagers, along with former Minister of State Sh. Subhash Sudha and other dignitaries, attended the event.
