CM Nayab Singh Saini stated that suggestions from mothers and sisters will be crucial in empowering women in the upcoming budget.

Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi, both the Central and Haryana Governments are actively working towards empowering women. He emphasized that the government’s objective is to make women key contributors to the nation’s progress.

CM Nayab Singh Saini expressed confidence that the suggestions shared by women today would play a crucial role in further empowering and strengthening women in the upcoming budget.

CM Nayab Singh Saini made these remarks during the sixth pre-budget consultation with women for the 2025-26 Budget, held in Panchkula today.

Women shared valuable suggestions during the budget consultation.

A total of 35 women, leaders from various sectors, participated in the pre-budget consultation and provided their suggestions to the Chief Minister. These women included Anganwadi workers, self-help group members, Drone Didi, Lakhpati Didi, NGO representatives, progressive women farmers, and women entrepreneurs. Additionally, young women from Haryana, who participated in the Prime Minister’s Vikasit Bharat Young Leaders program in New Delhi on Swami Vivekananda Jayanti, also offered their insightful suggestions.

Provision of 33 percent reservation for women in Lok Sabha and State Assemblies by 2029.

CM Nayab Singh Saini emphasized that the Prime Minister has announced a provision for 33 percent reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and State Assemblies by 2029. This initiative aims to increase female participation in national development and provide them with leadership opportunities. He also mentioned that the Haryana government is dedicated to empowering women and making them self-reliant. To achieve this, the state government has launched several ambitious programs.

Pre-budget discussions will be held with industrialists in Faridabad and textile industry representatives in Panipat.

CM Nayab Singh Saini stated that to create an inclusive budget, the state government is actively seeking suggestions from all sections of society. The best suggestions received will be incorporated into the state’s budget. He highlighted that, for the first time, the state government has introduced an online platform where residents can submit budget-related suggestions from the comfort of their homes. A dedicated portal has been created for this purpose. He assured that the valuable suggestions shared by women during today’s pre-budget consultation will be included in the upcoming budget. He added that thousands of suggestions have already been collected through pre-budget discussions with representatives from various sectors across the state. Additionally, he will soon hold pre-budget meetings with industrialists in Faridabad and textile industry representatives in Panipat. Similar consultations had earlier been held in Gurugram and Hisar.

Sanjha Bazaars will soon open in Yamunanagar and Fatehabad.

CM Nayab Singh Saini praised women for excelling in fields such as education, agriculture, entrepreneurship, self-help groups, and sports, and for becoming a source of inspiration for others. He emphasized that the government is fully supporting women in their endeavors. Whether it’s through initiatives like Drone Didi or the establishment of Sanjha Bazaars, the government is committed to empowering women. He shared that last year, the idea of creating markets for working women to sell their products and achieve financial independence was suggested. In response, the state government introduced the Sanjha Bazaar scheme in the 2024-25 budget. A Sanjha Bazaar has already been launched in Karnal, with similar markets planned for Yamunanagar and Fatehabad. Furthermore, Atal canteens have been set up in the state’s mandis and are being successfully managed by women.

Mahila Chaupals to be established in villages.

CM Nayab Singh Saini mentioned that the current state government has created a roadmap to ensure that girls face no obstacles in accessing higher education. As part of this initiative, a women’s college has been established every 20 kilometers, and a pink bus service has been introduced to safely transport female students. The Chief Minister also noted that plans are in place to set up Mahila Chaupals in villages across the state. While some villages already have Mahila Chaupals, others will soon follow suit.

Women are encouraged to listen to the budget speech in February.

Chief Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Sh. Rajesh Khullar, stated that the pre-budget consultation program was launched six years ago to collect suggestions from various stakeholders for the state budget. Since its initiation, nearly 400 suggestions from different sectors have been incorporated into the budget. Sh. Khullar urged the women who participated in the pre-budget consultation to listen to the Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, when he presents the budget as Finance Minister in February. He assured them that on that day, they would likely reflect on the discussions from today’s meeting.

During the event, progressive woman farmer Gurpreet Kaur from Yamunanagar presented homemade turmeric pickle to the Chief Minister. In appreciation of her efforts, the Chief Minister encouraged her by giving her Rs. 500. He also inquired about the sale of her pickle. Mrs. Kaur shared that she had set up a stall at the International Gita Jayanti Mahotsav in Kurukshetra and the Kapalmochan Mela in Bilaspur.

Additional Chief Secretary of the Finance Department, Sh. Anurag Rastogi, Additional Chief Secretary of the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department, Sh. Raja Shekhar Vundru, Commissioner and Secretary of the Women and Child Development Department, Mrs. P. Amneet Kumar, OSD to the Chief Minister, Sh. Raj Nehru, Media Secretary, Sh. Praveen Attrey, along with other senior officials and women representatives, were also present.
