Union Railway Minister Ashwini : In the Union Budget for the financial year 2025-26, ₹3,416 crore has been allocated for Haryana’s railway projects—an 11-fold increase compared to the ₹315 crore received between 2009 and 2014. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw shared this information in New Delhi today.

Highlighting Haryana’s share in the budget, he stated that the allocation would significantly enhance the state’s rail infrastructure. Since 2014, 823 km of railway tracks have been laid in Haryana, nearly matching the entire rail network of the United Arab Emirates.

Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for the substantial allocation aimed at strengthening rail infrastructure. He emphasized that this investment would not only improve railway connectivity but also contribute to the vision of a developed India, making transportation more convenient for residents.

Union Railway Minister Ashwini further stated that 34 railway stations in Haryana are being upgraded into Amrit stations with an investment of ₹1,149 crore. These include major stations such as Ambala Cantt, Faridabad, Hisar, Karnal, Panipat Junction, Rohtak, and Yamunanagar, among others. Additionally, redevelopment projects worth ₹262 crore for Faridabad railway station and Gurugram railway station are in progress.

Union Railway Minister Ashwini also announced that work is underway on 14 new railway tracks across Haryana, with ₹15,875 crore allocated for laying 1,195 km of new tracks. Key projects include the Chandigarh-Baddi corridor, Palwal to New Prithla, Rewari to Khatuwas, Panipat to Rohtak, and the Delhi-Sohna-Nuh-Firozpur Jhirka-Alwar railway line.

Between 2014 and 2025, Haryana’s railway infrastructure has witnessed rapid growth, including the electrification of 121 railway lines and the construction of 534 railway flyovers and underpasses. Additionally, ₹398 crore has been allocated under the Kavach project for railway modernization. Haryana has also gained connectivity to five Vande Bharat Express trains, and Wi-Fi services have been provided at 144 railway stations across the state.
