At Jasauli Kharg in Pachrukhi block of Siwan district, the Prime Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 28 development projects worth over Rs 5,900 crore, including schemes related to housing, urban development, water supply, power and railways. Bihar CM Nitish Kumar was also present on the occasion. In his address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the development work of the Chief Minister and said that Bihar has also played an important role in India’s global achievements.
Welcoming the Prime Minister at the public meeting, CM Nitish said it was a proud day for Bihar. He informed that a total of 32 schemes are being launched in this programme, including 22 urban development, 6 road and 1 rail projects. Along with this, two trains were flagged off and the export of one locomotive was also started. He thanked the Prime Minister for this.
In his address,CM Nitish Kumar said that when the NDA government was formed in 2005, the JDU and BJP together laid the foundation for the development of Bihar. He said the condition of Bihar was bad during the time of previous governments, but his government paid special attention to improving law and order, women empowerment, education, health and infrastructure. 50% reservation for women in Panchayats and Municipal Bodies, electricity, water, toilets and roads to every household.
During the ‘Pragati Yatra’, development works were reviewed across the state and Rs 5,000 crore was sanctioned for 430 new schemes, he said. CM Nitish said that under the leadership of the Prime Minister, the Central Government has also played a big role in the development of Bihar. In the recent Union Budget, special financial assistance has been announced for the state in sectors like industry, health, tourism, roads and flood control. Apart from this, assistance has also been received for the Makhana Board, New Airport and Kosi Canal Project.
Bihar has been given the host of ‘Khelo India Youth Games’ this time, which CM Nitish described as a matter of pride. He also thanked the Prime Minister for the decision on caste census.

In the end, the Chief Minister thanked all the dignitaries present and the general public and reiterated that with the cooperation of the Centre and the state government, Bihar will move forward rapidly and no one will be left behind.
