CM Nitish Kumar inspected the special development camp organised in Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe tolas under the Dr. Ambedkar Samagra Seva Abhiyan at Paradauli Gramme Panchayat in Teghra block. During the inspection, the Chief Minister distributed certificates / sanction letters to the beneficiaries of a total of 22 schemes including e-Shram Card, Ayushman Bharat Card, Aadhar Card, Bas Bhumi-Vasgeet Parcha, Labour Card, Skilled Youth Programme / Skill Development Programme. The Chief Minister also inspected the stalls set up by various departments and Jeevika Didis.
During the review, the Chief Minister handed over token cheques of Bihar State Migrant Workers Accident Grant Scheme, token cheques of Bihar Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (Marriage Assistance), Bihar Shatabdi Unorganised Work Area Workers and Craftsmen Social Security Scheme, Ayushman Card, token cheques of Rs.
The Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 107 developmental schemes at a cost of Rs 64.19 crore through remote. These include inauguration of 102 schemes worth Rs 12.37 crore and foundation stone laying of 5 schemes worth Rs 51.82 crore.
CM Nitish also participated in the ‘Mahila Samvad’ programme held at Pazhrauli Gramme Panchayat in Teghra block. At the event, women associated with Jeevika Self Help Groups shared their experiences and expressed gratitude towards the Chief Minister and said that they have benefited a lot from the work and decisions taken by him towards women empowerment. He also pointed out that women are benefiting a lot from reservation in government jobs and are now becoming self-reliant.
Interacting with the Jeevika Didis, the Chief Minister said that earlier the number of self-help groups in Bihar was less. In 2006, we started increasing the number of these groups by taking a loan from the World Bank and named them ‘Jeevika’. Women belonging to these groups are now called Jeevika Didis in Bihar. Inspired by this initiative, the central government implemented it across the country and named it ‘Aajeevika’.
