CM Nitish Kumar today reviewed the progress of the six-lane bridge over river Ganga between He reached Sherpur and inspected the construction site and took detailed information related to the project from the officials. The Chief Minister also witnessed and reviewed the ongoing bridge construction between river Ganga.
The officials informed CM Nitish that the project is being implemented by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) at a cost of Rs 3200 crore. The bridge will connect Sherpur in Patna district to Dighwara in Saran district and will have a total length of 14.52 km. The bridge will also serve as part of the Patna Ring Road. The project is expected to be completed by 2027.
During the inspection, CM Nitish directed the officials to expedite the bridge construction work to ensure its timely completion. He said that JP Ganga Path is also being constructed on the Patna side of this bridge. The bridge will also be connected to the Bihta-Sarmera road.
CM Nitish said that with the construction of this bridge, the movement of traffic between North and South Bihar will become easier. Also, the residents of the western parts of Patna will also get a lot of convenience in transportation. Since the bridge is part of the Ring Road, it will provide better connectivity in all directions of the capital city of Patna.
On the occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner Mr Jasbir Singh, Joint Commissioner of Police Mr Charanjit Singh Sohal, SDM Mr Rahul Sindhu, Joint MC Commissioner Mr Harcharan Singh, Assistant Commissioner Mr Hardeep Singh, ACP Model Town Mr Harinder Singh and others were present.
