Under Pragati Yatra, CM Nitish Kumar gifted schemes worth more than Rs 580 crore to Purnia district.
CM Nitish Kumar today remotely inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 62 development projects worth over Rs. 580.87 crore from the premises of Kamakhya Temple at Bhawanipur village in Majra Panchayat of Krittanand Nagar block of Purnia district as part of the third phase of Pragati Yatra. On the occasion, he offered prayers at the Kamakhya Temple and prayed for the happiness, peace and prosperity of the state.
Thereafter, CM Nitish Kumar inspected the stalls put up by various departments. During this, he took information about the works and products being done for livelihood by the Jeevika Didis of self-help groups. The Chief Minister handed over token cheques of Rs 204 crore to 1,43,088 Jeevika Didis, Rs 5.32 crore to 1,127 Jeevika Didis and Rs 27.21 crore to 13,605 Jeevika Didis. Apart from this, token cheques of Rs. 3 lakh 78 thousand were also handed over to 700 beneficiaries under Integrated Poultry Development Scheme.
CM Nitish Kumar saw the products displayed at the stalls of Jeevika Didis and interacted with them. He said that when our government was formed in 2005, there were very few self-help groups in Bihar. After this, we started the work of increasing the number of these groups by taking a loan from the World Bank. It was we who gave the name ‘Jeevika Didi’ to the women associated with self-help groups, due to which the then central government named this scheme ‘Aajeevika’. This initiative has significantly improved the economic condition of women in Bihar.
Women are becoming self-reliant by joining self-help groups. His dressing style and communication style have become more impressive than before. Now she has started talking to others without any hesitation. I congratulate all you Jeevika Didis for your excellent work.
Later, CM Nitish Kumarer inspected the stalls put up by the Industries Department, Health Department, Animal and Fisheries Resources Department, Social Welfare Department, Education Department etc. He also distributed token cheques to the beneficiaries of schemes like Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana, Ayushman Bharat Card Yojana, Bal Hriday Yojana, Student Credit Card Scheme, Mukhyamantri Gramin Awas Yojana and Basageet Parcha.
Also, the Chief Minister attended the baby shower of a new born baby and observed the live classes of Unnayan Bihar, Purnia.
Later, CM Nitish Kumar unveiled a plaque to mark the inauguration of the beautification of the Kamakhya temple complex, tourist facilities and construction of a rest house. He visited Kanya Madhyamik Vidyalaya, Majra, where he met the children and enquired about their studies and academic activities. Apart from this, he also interacted with the children of Anganwadi Centre, Purnia and motivated them to increase awareness about their education.
CM Nitish Kumar inaugurated and inspected the newly constructed sports complex at Kamakhya High School. Thereafter, he went through the sketch of the proposed bypass road project from Bhutaha Mor to 4 km of SH-60. The road will be 9.176 km long with an estimated cost of Rs. 151.47 crore. Its construction will ease traffic in the city and relieve the problem of congestion.
Along with this, CM Nitish Kumar also reviewed the plan for widening and strengthening work of SH-65 from Dhamdaha to Purnia Airport. The total length of the road will be 32 km and is estimated to cost Rs 100 crore. He also inspected the project of Upgradation, Widening and Strengthening of State High way No. 99 in Purnia and Kishanganj district, which will have a total length of 63.35 km.
Thereafter, CM Nitish Kumar inspected the Sports Complex (Multi-Purpose Hall) at Rangabhumi Maidan and met the local sportspersons. During the meeting, the officials apprised the Chief Minister about the sports infrastructure and construction works under the Sports Development Scheme. The Chief Minister directed that the construction work should be of high quality so that the children get suitable facilities for sports and running and they do not face any kind of inconvenience, as well as the basic structure of the Rangbhoomi Maidan should be maintained.
On this occasion, Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Dinesh Sharma, UP BJP chief Swatantra Dev Singh, UP BJP chief Swatantra Dev Singh, BJP’s UP in-charge Radha Mohan Singh, national general secretary (organisation) Sunil Bansal and UP BJP chief Swatantra Dev Singh were also present.
