CM Nitish Kumar attended the memorial meeting held on the 119th birth anniversary of Shaheed Suraj Narayan Singh at Polo Ground, Laheriasarai in Darbhanga district. He paid floral tributes to the portrait of the martyr.
Speaking on the occasion, CM Nitish said that the contribution of Shaheed Suraj Narayan Singh ji in the freedom struggle has been very important. After independence, he was also associated with the peasant and socialist movements. The Chief Minister announced that now the annual event will be held in the memory of Shaheed Suraj Narayan Singh ji in Patna as well as in Darbhanga. Along with this, his life-size statue and a grand memorial will also be constructed in Darbhanga, for which instructions have been given to the District Magistrate.
