CM Nitish Kumar inaugurated and laid foundation stones of 224 development projects.
CM Nitish Kumar launched the third phase of Pragati Yatra from Khagaria district today. The Chief Minister handed over 224 developmental schemes worth Rs 430 crore to Khagaria district. These include inauguration of 89 schemes and foundation stone laying of 135 schemes. As part of the Pragati Yatra, the Chief Minister remotely inaugurated a cattle feed factory at Maheshkhunt in Gogri block under Khagaria district. After the inauguration, the Chief Minister inspected the animal feed factory. During the inspection, the officials informed the Chief Minister that the animal feed factory has been constructed at a cost of Rs 43 crore with a production capacity of 300 metric tonnes per day. More than 5 lakh cattle rearers in the vicinity will be benefitted from this animal feed factory. During this, the Chief Minister said that this animal feed factory has been constructed in a very good way and today it has also been started. Animal feed will now be easily available to the cattle rearers. With the availability of animal feed, the milk of milch animals will increase, which will directly benefit the farmers and cattle rearers. Today, I am very happy to inaugurate this animal feed factory. The Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of developmental schemes related to various departments under Khagaria district at the Animal Feed Factory premises by unveiling the foundation stone through remote.
The Chief Minister took stock of the construction work of the proposed road from Rajendra Chowk, Khagaria to the railway crossing via Bakhri Bus Stand in Khagaria district. It will be 1.5 -km long. It will cost around Rs 16 crore. The Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for the construction of Road Over Bridge (ROB) from Khagaria Railway Station to Umesh Nagar Railway Station on the Khagaria-Parihara-Bakhri-Link route. The length of this ROB is 1300 metres. Later, he inspected the proposed construction of road and AFS (Anti Flood Sluice) at Nagar Suraksha Dam under Municipal Council Khagaria and gave necessary directions to the officials. A short film on the proposed construction of this road and anti-flood sluice was also screened before the Chief Minister. Under the proposed construction, the Khagaria City Security Embankment is to be elevated, strengthened and blackened. A flood sluice gate will also be constructed.
The Chief Minister visited Ward No. 12 of Maheshkhunt Panchayat and took information about the developmental works carried out by various departments including Jal-Jeevan-Hariyali Yojana, Har Ghar Nal Jal Yojana, Mukhyamantri Street Light Scheme and the basic facilities provided. During the visit, the Chief Minister interacted with the local people and enquired about their problems. The Chief Minister inspected the stalls set up by Jeevika Didis and various departments in Ward No-12 of Maheshkhunt Panchayat. While talking to Jeevika Didi, the Chief Minister said, “Many congratulations to all of you. You all are doing a great job. We started increasing the number of self-help groups by taking a loan from the World Bank in 2006, as a result of which today in Bihar, 1.31 crore women are doing a great job as Jeevika Didis by joining self-help groups. We have now started forming self-help groups in urban areas also. So far, more than 26 thousand Self Help Groups have been formed in urban areas, in which more than 3 lakh women have joined. Wherever we go, we must meet Jeevika didis. The problems or needs that arise after talking to them are fulfilled by the government. Officers were also present during the occasion. The number of self-help groups is continuously increasing in Bihar. Wherever they go, they get a lot of respect. Women are respected not only in the society but also in the society. We gave the name Jeevika to the women associated with self-help groups. Inspired by this, the then central government named it Aajeevika. Don’t forget it. The Chief Minister welcomed the Prime Minister on his arrival. The school students thanked the Chief Minister for the schemes being run for the upliftment of girls and encouraging girls towards education. The Chief Minister inaugurated the Jeevika Bhawan at Gram Panchayat Maheshkhunt by cutting the lace.
After this, the Chief Minister inspected the construction work of the high-level RCC bridge at Garh Ghat on the Bagmati river in Alauli block and gave necessary instructions to the officials. The length of this RC bridge will be 400 meters and the estimated cost will be Rs. 95 crore. After the water level rises during the flood days, the entire panchayat area gets submerged, due to which this area is completely cut off from its district headquarters and block headquarters. Due to lack of transport facility for agricultural work, the villagers have to resort to boat. The construction of this bridge will greatly benefit the people of this region.
