CM Nitish Kumar : Inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 172 schemes.
CM Nitish Kumar remotely inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 172 development projects worth Rs 133.24 crore from the venue of the programme held near the newly constructed Mukhiya-Sarpanch, Panchayat Training Centre (DPRC) located in Ghatkusumbha block of Sheikhpura district in the fourth phase of Pragati Yatra. These include inauguration of 120 schemes worth Rs 96.33 crore and foundation stone of 52 schemes worth Rs 36.71 crore.
CM Nitish Kumar inspected various development works in Ghatkusumbha block of Sheikhpura district. Inaugurated Sports Complex at Gagaur village developed at a cost of Rs. 9.92 lakhs and renovated Rajiv Gandhi Seva Kendra at a cost of Rs. 14.99 lakhs. He visited the playground and interacted with the players.
CM Nitish Kumar inaugurated the Jeevika Didi Library by cutting the ribbon and during the inspection said that this library will be helpful in the educational, entrepreneurship, skill and career development of rural children and youth. Besides, inaugurated the Panchayat Government Building, Gagaur constructed at a cost of Rs. 131.24 lakhs and inspected its facilities. He directed that the construction of remaining Panchayat Government buildings of the state should be completed by June 2025.
Later, the Chief Minister visited Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, Gagaur and took stock of the arrangements there. He inaugurated the astronomy laboratory, where students gave him information related to astronomy and the solar system. Appreciating the students, the Chief Minister said that they should always be ready to learn new technical knowledge and new knowledge. He also visited the art exhibition held in the school premises and motivated the students to pursue the field of art along with studies.
CM Nitish Kumar inspected the Middle School, Gagaur and took information about the educational system and activities there. During this time, a student of the school presented a song depicting the benefits of prohibition, which was carefully heard and appreciated by the Chief Minister. He also visited a science exhibition organised by children and inaugurated and inspected a drone robotics laboratory.
CM Nitish Kumar inaugurated the renovation of a pond near Madhyamik Vidyalaya at a cost of Rs. 7.63 lakh and construction of a PCC road from the main road to the Health and Wellness Centre at a cost of Rs. 14.99 lakh. Thereafter, he reviewed the Mukhya Mantri Fish Marketing Scheme being run in the second big pond of Gagaur and directed for construction of steps for beautification of the pond.
CM Nitish Kumar inaugurated the Anganwadi centre and interacted with the students and teachers. He also inaugurated Mukhiya-Sarpanch, Panchayat Training Centre (DPRC) constructed at a cost of Rs. 14.99 lakh. After visiting the Health and Wellness Centre, the Chief Minister enquired about the medical facilities and directed to provide telemedicine service to the patients.
Thereafter, he inspected the stalls of various government departments at the venue, which included Industries, Health, Rural Development, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Labour Resources, Social Welfare, Transport and Education departments. The Chief Minister distributed token cheques to beneficiaries of various government schemes and keys of tricycles to Divyangjan. Under Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana, assistance of Rs. 18.58 crore was given to 211 beneficiaries and Rs. 1.64 crore to 221 beneficiaries of Bihar Small Entrepreneurs Scheme. He also handed over keys to beneficiaries of e-rickshaws under the Chief Minister Block Transport Scheme.
CM Nitish Kumar took stock of the activities of the SHGs and their products and disbursed financial assistance of Rs. 49.46 crore to 1200 SHGs. He said that in 2005, the number of self-help groups in Bihar was very low, to increase which the state government started the “Jeevika” program by taking a loan from the World Bank. This gave women an opportunity to become self-reliant and improved their economic condition. The Chief Minister congratulated the students and wished a bright future for them.
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Kumar Sinha, Water Resources Minister Shri Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Transport Minister Smt. Sheela Kumari, MPs, MLAs, senior officers and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
