CM Nitish Kumar during his Pragati Yatra gifted 195 development projects worth more than Rs 554 crore to Aurangabad district. These include inauguration of 79 schemes worth Rs. 127.43 crore and laying of foundation stone of 116 schemes worth Rs. 426.76 crore through remote.
CM Nitish Kumar inaugurated the Panchayat Sarkar Bhawan at Bedhani Panchayat in Deo block and inspected its various rooms, such as library, mukhiya room, revenue staff office, panchayat secretary room etc. Besides, he visited Mahadalit Tola and inspected pucca streets constructed under Saat Nischay Yojana, Har Ghar Nal Ka Jal Yojana, Awas Yojana, Solar Street Light Scheme and Community Halls and interacted with the local people.
He offered prayers at the famous Sun Temple at Deo and wished for the happiness and prosperity of the state. Also, inspected the land selected for the proposed Ring Road and Medical College in Irrigation Colony. The officials gave detailed information to the Chief Minister about the road connecting Surya Kund to Dev Bypass (Ring Road) and the construction work of Ring Road in Nagar Panchayat Dev. The Chief Minister directed that better road connectivity should be ensured to the medical college.
Taking stock of the development works being carried out by the Tourism Department at Surya Kund and Rudra Kund at Deo, the Chief Minister appreciated the beautification of Rudra Kund and directed to further deepen the Surya Kund so that water remains in it always. Besides, he inspected the construction site of the proposed radial road and directed the officials to complete it before the upcoming Chhath festival to facilitate smooth movement of devotees.
CM Nitish Kumar remotely inaugurated the newly constructed Model Hospital building at Aurangabad Sadar Hospital premises and unveiled the foundation stone. Thereafter, he inspected the multi-storeyed hospital building and took stock of the facilities available and directed the officials to install lifts at the earliest to facilitate patients to reach the upper floors.
Thereafter, the Chief Minister conducted an on-site inspection of the proposed river front project on Adri river at Dr. A.P .J. Abdul Kalam Park, Aurangabad and gave necessary instructions to the officials. Adri river, which is a tributary of Punpun river, is considered important from religious and tourism point of view, especially during the Chhath Mahaparva. Under the proposed scheme, the river front will be developed in an area of 1500 meters from Kamabigha (NH-2) to A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Park with open gym, park, RCC chair for seating, plantation and main drain of 2500 meters for drainage so that the dirty water of the city can be drained properly and the river remains clean. A plan for widening and construction of a service road along the Adri river is also proposed.
CM Nitish Kumar inaugurated the newly constructed Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Residential School, Kushi, Aurangabad under the Scheduled Castes and Tribes Welfare Department. He visited the school premises and took stock of the library, multipurpose room and other facilities. During this time, he interacted with the students and motivated them to study diligently.
Besides, the Chief Minister inspected the stalls put up by Jeevika Didis and various departments. He distributed token cheques as financial assistance to selected beneficiaries under Mukhya Mantri Block Transport Yojana, Ayushman Card and Mukhya Mantri Udyami Yojana. During an interaction with Jeevika Didis, he informed that the Jeevika programme was launched in 2006 to promote Self Help Groups with a loan from the World Bank, which was later expanded to the national level. He assured that the State Government is extending this initiative in urban areas also so that women can be made self-reliant.
Finally, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of development schemes of various departments in Aurangabad district through remote.
Speaking to reporters, CM Nitish Kumar said that in 2006, he noticed that the number of self-help groups in the state was very low. This initiative was started by taking a loan from the World Bank to increase it. It was he who gave the name ‘Jeevika’ to these groups, due to which the then central government gave it the name ‘Aajeevika’. The women associated with Jeevika were addressed as’ Jeevika Didi ‘. Now these clusters are also being expanded in urban areas, making women self-reliant and self-reliant. This initiative has significantly improved the economic condition of women in Bihar. There has also been a positive change in her lifestyle and interactions, and she is communicating with people with confidence. The Chief Minister appealed to the people to spread the information about the works of Jeevika Didi and the changes in her life.
On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Ramvir, SDM Sangrur Yashpal Sharma, Assistant Commissioner (UT) Devdarshdeep Singh, EO Ramesh Kumar, all local Congress leaders, and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
