CM Nitish Kumar has expressed deep sorrow at his death.

CM Nitish Kumar in his condolence message said that Bihar Kokila Sharda Sinha was a famous folk singer. He has also sung in Tamil, Hindi and Telugu among other languages. He has also acted in several Hindi films. The Government of India honoured him with the Padma Shri in 1991 and the Padma Bhushan in 2018 for his contribution to the world of music. Late Sharda Sinha’s melodious songs on Chhath Mahaparva resonate in all parts of the country including Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. His death has caused an irreparable loss in the field of music.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has prayed to the almighty to give peace to the departed soul and strength to his family, admirers and followers to bear this loss.
