CM Nitish Kumar made many important announcements in the review meeting.
CM Nitish Kumar today held a meeting to review the ongoing development schemes in Bhagalpur district. In the meeting, Bhagalpur District Magistrate Dr Naval Kishore Chaudhary gave a detailed presentation of the development works of the district. He apprised the Chief Minister about the status of various schemes such as Bihar Student Credit Card Scheme, Mukhyamantri Nischay Self Help Allowance Scheme, Kaushal Yuva Karyakram, Har Ghar Nal Ka Jal, Pucca Gali-Nali Nirman, and other schemes. The District Magistrate also gave information about the Panchayat Government Building, sports facilities, and works done under Jal-Jeevan-Hariyali.
Participating in the meeting, CM Nitish Kumar said that he welcomes all the public representatives present and the problems raised by them would be brought to the notice of the concerned authorities. He said that continuous efforts are being made for proper development of Bihar and since 2005, significant improvements have been made in the state such as better roads, health facilities and improvement in the quality of education. The Chief Minister said that many important steps have been taken in the development of Bihar with the support of the BJP.
CM Nitish Kumar said that he decided to change the party twice by mistake, but now they will work unitedly for the development of Bihar. He said that work is being done for the development of every sector in Bihar. The siege of graveyards began in 2006, with 8,000 graveyards cordoned off so far, and there are now no reports of Hindu-Muslim disputes in the state.
CM Nitish Kumar also mentioned that since 2016, the boundary walls of the old temples were constructed for their protection to prevent the theft of idols from the temples. He said that during the government of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the work of construction of roads had started and today the development of roads, education, health, bridges and culverts is going on at a rapid pace in Bihar.
He informed that the dress scheme was introduced in government schools from 2006, and the cycle scheme for girls of class 9 from 2008 and for boys from 2010. Simultaneously, reforms such as recruitment of government teachers, construction of school buildings and government recognition of madrassas were undertaken.
Health services have also improved. From 2006, free treatment was started in government hospitals and now the number of patients in health centres has increased significantly. CM Nitish Kumar also informed that the number of medical colleges in Bihar has increased from 6 to 12 and the construction of another 14 medical colleges is going on at a rapid pace.
CM Nitish Kumar has taken several steps for the upliftment of women, such as providing 50 per cent reservation to women in Panchayati Raj institutions and municipal bodies, increasing the number of women in the police force and giving reservation to women in government services.
Employment opportunities have also increased in Bihar. The target of 10 lakh government jobs has been increased to 12 lakh and so far 9 lakh people have got jobs.
CM Nitish Kumar also said that several development works have been taken up in Bhagalpur district, including construction of engineering college, para medical institute, hostels, roads and bridges. In the year 2019, immediate relief was provided to the flood victims and anti-erosion works have been carried out for the safety of Bhagalpur Engineering College.
CM Nitish Kumar has made some important announcements in view of the demands of the people in Bhagalpur district:
- A ROB (Railway Over Bridge) will be constructed on the Baunsi railway line under Bhagalpur Municipal Corporation.
- A new inter-state bus stand will be constructed at Bhagalpur.
- A sports complex will be constructed in Navgachia subdivision, which will facilitate training of sportspersons and promote local talent.
- A super speciality department for cancer treatment will be set up at the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital.
- The check dam will be constructed on Godyari river in the up-stream of Champa river in Nathnagar block.
- A request will be made to the central government to acquire 17 acres of railway land near Jahaj Ghat in Sultanganj, which will later be developed as a tourist spot.
- An industrial area will be developed on government land in Goradih block, which will give a boost to industry.
- A new greenfield airport will be built in Bhagalpur, which will boost industrial development and tourism.
- The central government will be requested to include it in the UDAN scheme for operation of small aircraft at the existing airport of Bhagalpur.
- New block-cum-zone office buildings will be constructed in 7 blocks (Pirpainti, Vihpur, Shahkund, Kahalgaon, Sabaur, Navgachia, Sanhola) of Bhagalpur district, and residential complexes along with all office buildings will be constructed in 4 blocks (Goradih, Nathnagar, Narayanpur, Ismailpur).
“Bihar is getting a lot of help from the Centre. When he was an MP and a minister at the Centre, he would always visit his area. They had to walk a lot due to lack of roads. As a minister, he used to visit his area every Saturday and meet people. CM Nitish Kumar requested all the public representatives to convey whatever work is pending or needs to be done to the authorities. His aim is to develop Bihar and serve the people. Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated all the award winners.
During the review meeting, the District Magistrate welcomed CM Nitish Kumar by presenting him a sapling and a memento. The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, Water Resources Minister Jayant Sinha, Urban Development Minister Eknath Shinde, Industries Minister Subhash Desai, Revenue Minister Balasaheb Thorat and PWD Minister Ashok Chavan.
