CM Nitish Kumar made several important announcements during the review meeting.
CM Nitish Kumar today held a review meeting of the ongoing developmental schemes in Bhojpur district during the Pragati Yatra, which was held at the District Collectorate Auditorium. In the meeting, District Magistrate Tanay Sultania gave detailed information on the progress of various schemes of Bhojpur district. These included the updated status of schemes like Bihar Student Credit Card Scheme, Mukhyamantri Nischay Self Help Allowance Scheme, Kushal Yuva Karyakram, Har Ghar Nal Ka Jal, Pucca Gali-Nali, Solar Street Light Scheme, Agriculture Feeder Construction, Mukhyamantri Krishi Vidyut Connection Scheme, and Panchayat Government Building Construction. Apart from this, works like 10+2 schools in every panchayat, construction of playgrounds, Mukhyamantri Gram Sampark Yojana, and restoration of public water sources under Jal-Jeevan-Hariyali Abhiyan were also reviewed.
Addressing the meeting, CM Nitish Kumar said that the work of development is continuously going on in Bihar and the situation in the state has improved a lot. He explained how the situation in Bihar was before the formation of the government in 2005, and how the rule of law has been established in the state now and the pace of development has accelerated. CM Nitish Kumar also mentioned that significant improvements have been made in the field of health, education, roads, and government facilities, the impact of which is visible in every corner of the state.
CM Nitish Kumar said that since 2015, through the Saat Nischay Yojana, we have provided many important basic facilities to the people like tap water to every household, construction of toilets, pucca streets, pucca roads and electricity connection. These facilities are also being provided in the new settlements that have been constructed. Since 2020, under the Saat Nischay Yojana-2, the work of Mukhyamantri Gramin Solar Street Light Yojana, Telemedicine, Bal Hriday Yojana and providing irrigation water to every field is progressing rapidly.
“We have made continuous efforts for the upliftment of women so that they can become self-reliant. 50% reservation for women in Panchayati Raj Institutions since 2006 and in Municipal Bodies since 2007. Since then, four elections have been held and a large number of women have participated in the electoral process. In 2006, we took a loan from the World Bank to increase the number of self-help groups, and now 10 lakh 61 thousand self-help groups are working in Bihar, in which 1 crore 35 lakh Jeevika Didis are associated.
CM Nitish Kumar further said that since 2013, 35 per cent reservation was given to women in police restoration, with which the number of women in Bihar Police is the highest in the country. 35% reservation for women in all government jobs has been implemented since 2018.
CM Nitish Kumar informed that between 2005 and 2020, 8 lakh people were given government jobs and under Saat Nischay Yojana-2, the target of giving jobs to 10 lakh people in 2020 has been increased to 12 lakh, and so far more than 9 lakh people have got government jobs. Further, employment has also been provided to 24 lakh people, and the target is to provide 12 lakh government jobs and 34 lakh jobs by 2025.
Referring to the development works done in Bhojpur district, the Chief Minister said that Engineering College, Para Medical Institute, Government Polytechnic, Women ITI, and various roads and bridges have been constructed here. Work is underway on many important projects here, such as the construction of Veer Kunwar Singh Setu on the river Ganga, the construction of 61 Panchayat Government Buildings, the electricity grid and agricultural feeders. Additionally, CM Nitish Kumar made several announcements for the upcoming development works in the district, such as ring road construction in Arrah, widening of several major roads, and approval of other necessary schemes.
