CM Nitish Kumar administered a pledge at his official residence, 1 Anney Marg, and chaired a review meeting to assess preparations for Haj-2025. He issued necessary directives to officials to ensure smooth arrangements.
During the meeting, Mohammad Sohail, Secretary of the Minority Welfare Department, gave a detailed presentation outlining the plans for Haj-2025. He provided information on the number of Haj pilgrims from each district, designated embarkation points, and facilities being arranged for the pilgrims. He informed that the Bihar government’s Minority Welfare Department is overseeing the arrangements and ensuring that all necessary services are provided.
This year, Haj pilgrims from Bihar will depart through 10 different airports across the country. To oversee and manage facilities at various locations, officer-led teams have been appointed.
CM Nitish Kumar emphasized that comprehensive arrangements must be made for Haj pilgrims before their departure to the airport, including accommodation, meals, and transportation. He stressed the importance of ensuring that no pilgrim faces any difficulty and their journey proceeds smoothly.
CM Nitish Kumar also mentioned that every year, the Minority Welfare Department facilitates the sacred journey of Muslim pilgrims from Bihar to Mecca in Saudi Arabia. This year, a total of 2,403 pilgrims from Bihar—including 1,391 men and 1,012 women—will perform Haj, which he described as a moment of great pride.
He added that facilities similar to those at Haj Bhavan in Patna have been developed at Kishanganj to assist pilgrims with lodging, food, passport verification, vaccination, and foreign exchange services. Similar preparations are underway in other districts like Sitamarhi and Darbhanga.
A meeting before the departure of Haj pilgrims is scheduled to be held this year at the Maulana Mazharul Haque Auditorium in Haj Bhavan, Patna, on May 1. The Chief Minister also reviewed the arrangements for this upcoming event.
Present at the meeting were Minister of Water Resources and Parliamentary Affairs Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Minority Welfare Minister Zaman Khan, Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary Deepak Kumar, Chief Secretary Amrit Lal Meena, Development Commissioner Pratyaya Amrit, CM’s Secretary Anupam Kumar, Minority Welfare Department Secretary Mohammad Sohail, and other senior officials.
