During the Pragati Yatra, CM Nitish Kumar gifted development schemes worth more than Rs 514 crore to Kishanganj district.
CM Nitish Kumar today remotely inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 235 developmental schemes worth Rs. 514.26 crore from the newly constructed District Emergency Response Facility-cum-Training Centre at Maheshbathana in Kishanganj district in the third phase of Pragati Yatra. These include inauguration of schemes of various departments at a cost of Rs. 151.17 crore and foundation stone laying at a cost of Rs. 363.09 crore.
CM Nitish Kumar made on-the-spot inspection of the problems related to the proposed Thakurganj bypass road in Kathaldangi village in Pateshwari Gram Panchayat of Thakurganj block and gave several necessary directions to the officials. The Chief Minister said that the construction work of Thakurganj bypass should be started as soon as possible. With the construction of this bridge, people will be able to commute easily. Along with this, connectivity to nearby areas will also be improved. The total length of the proposed Thakurganj bypass is 4.01 km and width is 10m at an estimated cost of Rs. 41.30 crore. The officials also gave detailed information to the Chief Minister regarding the widening and strengthening of 65.350 km long State High Road No-99 (Bayasi-Bahadurgunj-Dighal Bank) under Purnia and Kishanganj districts and the construction of the proposed Asura-Nishandra Ghat bridge and approach road.
CM Nitish Kumar visited village Kathaldangi (Thakurganj) and took stock of the developmental works and interacted with the local people to know their problems. The Chief Minister inspected the pond constructed under the Jal-Jeevan-Hariyali Abhiyan in village Kathaldangi and directed the officials to build a ladder-like ghat around the pond. He said that people get a lot of comfort by having a staircase on the bank of the pond. The Chief Minister inspected the stalls set up by various departments at village Kathaldangi and distributed the benefits among the beneficiaries of the schemes. On the occasion, the Chief Minister handed over certificates of endowment of government land for habitation to landless people of eligible category under campaign Basera-02, token cheque of Mukhya Mantri Minority Vidyarthi Protsahan Yojana, token cheque of Mukhya Mantri Abandoned / Divorced Women Assistance Scheme, token cheque of Mukhya Mantri Minority Udyami Yojana, key of newly constructed houses under Mukhya Mantri Gramin Awas Yojana, key of community sanitation complex, key of battery operated tricycle to Divyangjan under Mukhya Mantri Divyangjan Sashaktikaran Chhatra Yojana to the beneficiaries. The Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of several schemes under Kishanganj district through remote. These include inauguration of 6 cattle shelters, inauguration of public toilets in Ward No. 5 of Pateshwari Panchayat, foundation stone of Jeevika Sangathan office building, inauguration of Pateshwari welcome gate-cum-paver block interlocking construction work, foundation stone of Anganwadi centre building.
After this, CM Nitish Kumar saw the model of Adarsh Gram Panchayat in ward number-4 of Halamala Gram Panchayat of Motihara. He unveiled the foundation stone and inaugurated various buildings constructed on the model of Gram Panchayat. The Chief Minister inspected the playground, pond, waste management unit constructed in the campus. During the inspection of the Sarovar, the Chief Minister said that it is very well built. Build a ladder next to it so that people can roam here. Later, the Chief Minister inspected the stalls put up by various departments. Talking to the Jeevika Didis while inspecting the stalls of the Self Help Groups, the Chief Minister said that in 2005, when we got the opportunity to work in Bihar, we saw that the number of Self Help Groups here is negligible. We started increasing the number of self-help groups by taking loans from the World Bank. It was we who gave the name ‘Jeevika Didi’ to the women associated with self-help groups, due to which the then central government named it ‘Aajeevika’. This has greatly improved the economic condition of women in Bihar. Women are becoming self-reliant by joining self-help groups. His dressing and speaking skills are also very good. They started talking to people. I congratulate all of you for doing a better job.
CM Nitish Kumar also inspected the stalls of Health Department, Education Department, Industries Department, Integrated Child Development Project, Agriculture Department, Transport Department. The Chief Minister handed over token cheques of Rs 137 crore to 11,486 self-help groups, Rs 14.33 crore to 2305 self-help groups and Rs 5.40 crore to 305 self-help groups to the Jeevika Didis. The Chief Minister presented a cheque of Rs 4 lakh to the beneficiary under the Mukhyamantri Chaur Vikas Yojana.
CM Nitish Kumar also handed over the keys of the vehicles to the beneficiaries of the Block Transport Scheme. After this, the Chief Minister inaugurated the Govardhan plant by cutting the lace and unveiling the foundation stone. After the inauguration, the Chief Minister inspected the plant and took stock of the functioning. During this, the Chief Minister handed over the keys of cleanliness to Jeevika Didi. The Chief Minister also took stock of the tea gardens provided to the Jeevika Didis for livelihood under the Chaur Vikas Yojana.
CM Nitish Kumar inaugurated the District Emergency Response Facility-cum-Training Centre at Maheshbathana by cutting the ribbon and unveiling the plaque. After the inauguration, the Chief Minister inspected the facility and enquired about its functioning. From this emergency centre complex, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of various schemes of Kishanganj district through remote. Speaking to reporters, the Chief Minister said, “We have done a lot for the development of Bihar. Since coming to power, development work is being done in all areas of Bihar.
Later, CM Nitish Kumar inspected Deramari Minority Residential School at Kochadhaman and enquired about the arrangements there and the facilities available to the students. The Chief Minister inspected various stalls related to academic works prepared by the students and interacted with the students. The Chief Minister asked the students to study diligently and stay well. The Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for the construction of a foot over bridge between the residential complex of Minority Residential School and the academic complex at a cost of Rs. 318.58 lakh.
