CM Nitish Kumar today unveiled the foundation stone and inaugurated the 1117-bedded hospital in the tower (P) and (P) of the hospital building under the Patna Medical College and Hospital Redevelopment Project (Phase-I). He also unveiled a 22-foot symbolic statue to mark the centenary year of PMCH. After the inauguration, the Chief Minister inspected the newly constructed hospital building and took stock of the facilities available for the patients.
During the inspection, CM Nitish went to the top floor of the hospital and inspected the area around the PMCH and inquired about the landing arrangements of the air ambulance. After this, he went to the 9th floor of the hospital and inspected the nurse station, hygienic clothes store, special room, and other facilities. Apart from this, he visited the third floor and took stock of the counseling room, cancer screening room, infertility clinic, etc.
CM Nitish inquired about the hospital’s emergency services from the officials and stated that PMCH will be the first hospital in Bihar where landing arrangements have been made for air ambulances. The hospital has been connected to J.P. Ganga Path and will also be connected to the under-construction double-decker road of Ashok Rajpath. The Chief Minister directed the officials to complete the project on time so that 5462 beds could be made available for patients at PMCH.
El gobierno estatal aprobó el proyecto de remodelación el 6 de diciembre de 2018 a un costo de 5,540 millones de rupias y la piedra angular fue colocada por el jefe de gobierno el 8 de febrero de 2021. El proyecto tiene como objetivo completarse para marzo de 2027, y una vez finalizado, se convertirá en el hospital más grande de India y el segundo más grande del mundo.
Además, el gobierno estatal también está mejorando otros cinco colegios médicos antiguos para ofrecer mejores instalaciones médicas a los pacientes.
