CM Nitish Kumar today inspected the Park being developed by the Department of Environment, Forest and Climate Change on J.P. Ganga Path.
As part of the inspection, the officials briefed CM Nitish Kumar about the park being developed, which has a length of 500 metres and is located between LCT Ghat and Kurji Ghat. The park is part of the Patna Smart City project and is being developed as a picnic spot. Its purpose is to make J.P. Ganga Path charming and attractive.
CM Nitish Kumar directed the officials to develop the park keeping in mind the safety and convenience of the people as it is located on the banks of river Ganga.
A lot of good work is being done here. With the development of the park on J.P. Ganga Path, greenery will increase and people coming here will be able to spend some time with their families. Complete this task as soon as possible.
Later, the Chief Minister took stock of the rising water level of river Ganga around Patna by road. As part of the review, CM Nitish Kumar inspected the rising water level of river Ganga from Kangan Ghat in Patna City to Nasriganj Ghat in Danapur. Meanwhile, the Chief Minister after taking stock of the rising water level of river Ganga from LCT Ghat on J.P. Ganga Path, reached NIT Ghat where he took complete information from the officials about the rising water level of river Ganga and the current situation in the coastal areas. From NIT Ghat to JP Ganga Path, the Chief Minister visited Kangan Ghat followed by Digha Ghat and Nasriganj Ghat at Danapur to take stock of the rising water level of river Ganga.
Instructing the officials, CM Nitish Kumar said that keeping in view the rising water level in the areas along the river Ganga, be fully alert and be prepared at all times to deal with any emergency. Continuously review the situation along the banks of river Ganga, especially in the low-lying areas, and take immediate necessary action, if required, so that no damage is caused. The water level of the Ganga river has increased at several places including Nasriganj Ghat, Gandhi Ghat and the current of the river is also very strong. Keep a close watch on the possible situations and provide necessary assistance to the people affected by the rising water level as per SOP.
On this occasion, Principal Secretary to Deputy Commissioner Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma, Commissioner of Police Mr. Gurpreet Singh Bhullar and Municipal Corporation Commissioner Mr. Diperva Lakra were also present.
