CM Nitish Kumar laid the foundation stone of R. Jhunjhunwala Shankara Eye Hospital, Patna

CM Nitish Kumar today unveiled and laid the foundation stone of R. Jhunjhunwala Shankara Eye Hospital, Patna at Kankarbagh. The Chief Minister also attended the ground-breaking ceremony of the ultra-specialty eye hospital to be built under public-private partnership.

A short film on the visit to the 48 year old R. Jhunjhunwala Sankara Eye Hospital was screened before the Chief Minister. Through a presentation by the management of R. Jhunjhunwala Shankara Eye Hospital, CM Nitish Kumar was briefed in detail about the design of the ultra-specialty eye hospital building to be constructed at Kankarbagh in Patna, the facilities to be provided in the hospital building for patients and doctors, the machines based on new technology to be installed for the examination of patients in the hospital, the operation theatre etc. It was informed in the presentation that this eye hospital will be ready by December 2026.
“We have been working from the beginning to improve the health services in the state so that no one is forced to go out of Bihar for treatment. With the construction of this eye hospital, people will get better health services.

In the programme, the management of R. Jhunjhunwala Sankara Eye Hospital welcomed CM Nitish Kumar by presenting him Angavastra and insignia. Prominent amongst those present on the occasion included Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Samrat Chaudhary, Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Kumar Sinha, Water Resources Minister Mr. Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Health Minister Mr. Mangal Pandey, Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Deepak Kumar, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Pratyaya Amrit, Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Kumar Ravi, Executive Director of Bihar State Health Society Mr. Suharsh Bhagat, District Magistrate Dr. Thiagarajan S.M., Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Kartikey K. Sharma and other senior officers.
