CM Nitish Kumar laid the foundation stone of various development projects worth Rs. 574.16 crore related to the announcements made during the Pragati Yatra at a function held in Muzaffarpur today.
Among the major projects were:
Construction of ROB and approach road between Ramdayalu Nagar-Muzaffarpur Railway Station at a cost of Rs. 167.68 Crore.
Construction of roads from Sipahapur to Chakmohabbat and Pusa Road to Chandwara Bridge at a cost of Rs. 120.93 crore.
Rs. 44.76 crore for road widening from Chandni Chowk to Ramdayalu Nagar and Rs. 89.77 crore for 7 km road widening on Bakhri Marg.
Improvement works in two sections on Sheohar-Minapur-Kanti road at a total cost of Rs. 126.74 crore.
Construction of RCC Bridge in Gaighat Block at a cost of Rs. 24.28 Crore.
After laying the foundation stone, CM Nitish Kumar interacted with the pensioners at Teachers Training College, Patahi. The pensioners expressed their gratitude for increasing the pension amount from Rs 400 to Rs 1100. The Chief Minister gave away tricycles to differently abled persons and cheques to beneficiaries under Antarikshya Vivah Protsahan Yojana.
CM Nitish Kumar said that the government is committed to provide a dignified life to all sections of the people. The people present thanked the Chief Minister for the free electricity scheme up to 125 units. This, he said, would help in meeting the expenses of the household.
The ASHA workers thanked CM Nitish Kumar for the tripling of the incentive amount. The Chief Minister said that their role in rural health services is important and they will continue to get support.
The panchayat representatives thanked the Chief Minister for the increase in the allowance. The Chief Minister asked them to take up development works with dedication and assured them that the government would take care of their interests.
Symbolic cheques amounting to Rs. 105 crore to 5642 Self Help Groups and Rs. 2.11 crore to 201 groups were presented in the programme. Jeevika didis shared their experiences and appreciated the schemes of the Chief Minister. CM Nitish Kumar informed that the expansion of clusters started in 2006 with the help of World Bank, and today the model of Jeevika has been transformed into “Aajeevika” scheme at the national level.
After this, CM Nitish Kumar inspected the construction work of the ROB on Muzaffarpur bypass, which is being built at a cost of Rs 250 crore. He directed that the remaining work should be completed soon so that traffic in the city could be facilitated.
Ministers, public representatives, officials and others took part in the programme. The programme was organised in pursuance of the Chief Minister’s announcements of Pragati Yatra of January 5, 2025, including schemes of Bridge Construction Corporation, Road Construction and Rural Works Department.
