The Union Home Minister, Shri Amit Shah and the CM Nitish Kumar inaugurated and lit the lamp to mark the foundation stone laying ceremony of various schemes of the Central and State Governments at Bapu Auditorium, Samrat Ashok Convention Centre today. On this occasion, Shri Amit Shah inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of these schemes through remote.
Addressing the event, Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah lauded the work of CM Nitish Kumar in the last 20 years and said that under his leadership, Bihar has made significant progress towards development. CM Nitish Kumar also welcomed all present at the event and said that the launch of various schemes of the Central and State Government is a significant achievement. He also highlighted the positive changes taking place in the cooperative sector and expressed his happiness to benefit the beneficiaries from these schemes.
CM Nitish Kumar referred to the progress being made in the sector after the formation of the Ministry of Cooperation in 2021 by the Government of India and appreciated the efforts of the Union Minister for Home Affairs and Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah. He highlighted the various provisions made for Bihar in the Union Budgets of 2024 and 2025 such as setting up of Makhana Board and development of new airports as instrumental in the economic progress of the state. He also expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for the approval of Kosi-Mechi River Link Project and Patna-Ara-Sasaram Forelane Corridor from the Union Cabinet.
CM Nitish Kumar also referred to the social and infrastructural reforms in Bihar, including improvement in the law and order situation, setting up of schools to strengthen the education system and reinstatement of teachers, improvement in health facilities, introduction of 50% reservation for women in Panchayati Raj institutions and municipal bodies, and promotion of women empowerment under the Jeevika project. He informed that the number of women engaged in livelihood has reached 1.35 crore and is now being expanded to urban areas.
CM Nitish Kumar said that the central government is getting full support in the development of Bihar, which will accelerate the development plans of the state. He thanked the Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah on the occasion and congratulated all present.
During the programme, beneficiaries of various cooperative societies were provided benefits of the schemes and the stalls put up by the cooperative organizations were inspected. The Chief Minister was felicitated by Cooperation Minister Dr. Prem Kumar and Secretary Cooperation Department Shri Dharmendra Singh by presenting him a memento and a sapling. In addition, a short film based on the achievements of the Cooperation Department was also presented.
Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama, Minister Pradeepsinh Jadeja and BJP whip Pankaj Desai were also present at the swearing-in ceremony along with other senior Cabinet ministers and party members.
