CM Nitish Kumar today inaugurated the ‘Bhim Samvad’ programme organised by the Janata Dal (United) on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar at Bapu Auditorium in Samrat Ashok Convention Centre by lighting the lamp. He paid floral tributes to the statue of Baba Saheb on the occasion.
CM Nitish also released the book ‘Dr. Ambedkar Ki Virasat aur Drishti “based on the life of Dr. Ambedkar by Rural Affairs Minister Shri Ashok Kumar Chaudhary. The party leaders and workers welcomed the Chief Minister with garlands and angavastram.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that he salutes Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar and congratulates all those present on the occasion. “Baba Saheb’s life and thoughts are very inspiring. He did a historic work by drafting the Constitution of the country, which can never be forgotten. When he was a Union Minister, he had visited Dr. Ambedkar’s residence to pay tributes and also met his family members.
CM Nitish said that the Janata Dal United considers five great personalities – Mahatma Gandhi, Babasaheb Ambedkar, Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia, Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan and Jannayak Karpoori Thakur – as its inspiration. In line with his ideas, the party has done development work in Bihar for the upliftment of every section – be it Dalits, Mahadalits, backwards, extremely backward, upper castes, minorities or women.
CM Nitish said that before 2005, the condition of Bihar was bad, but his government has made efforts to progress in every field. Their problems are heard by directly communicating with the people and immediate steps are taken in the direction of solution.
The Chief Minister appealed that the development work done by the government so far should be taken to the people and the work of taking the state forward by keeping all sections of the society united. Recalling Baba Saheb’s thoughts, he paid tributes at his feet and wished everyone.
The event was attended by several ministers, MPs, MLAs, MLCs, party office-bearers, Ambedkar supporters and a large number of JD (U) workers. The programme was presided over by JD (U) State President Umesh Singh Kushwaha and moderated by SC / ST Cell President Rajesh Tyagi.
