CM Nitish Kumar today unveiled the logo and mascot of Sepak Takraw World Cup-2025 to be held in Bihar at a function held in the Dialogue Room of the Chief Minister’s Secretariat. The unveiling was done through a state-of-the-art 3D hologram projector, which was used for the first time in Bihar. The ‘logo’ of the World Cup reflects the rich culture, sportsmanship and energy of Bihar, while the ‘mascot’ symbolises the strength and pride of the state.
Bihar is hosting the Sepak Takraw World Cup 2025 for the first time. The tournament will be held at the Patliputra Sports Complex in Patna from 20th to 25th March 2025, wherein players from more than 25 countries will showcase their talent and skills. Sepak takraw is the national sport of Malaysia.
During the programme, CM Nitish Kumar felicitated the players from Bihar who won medals in the 38th National Games held in Uttarakhand from January 28 to February 14, 2025. Bihar won a total of 12 medals, including 1 Gold, 6 Silver and 5 Bronze medals, in a spectacular performance in various sports. Apart from the gold in lawn bowls, silver medals were won in archery, wushu, fencing, lawn bowls, yoga and rugby, and bronze medals in wushu, lawn bowls, fencing and modern pentathlon.
A short film on Sepak Takraw Games and Khelo India Youth was also screened on the occasion. On the occasion, Additional Chief Secretary General Administration and Sports Dr. B. Rajender presented a green sapling to the Chief Minister, while the President of Indian Sepak Takraw Federation Yogendra Singh Dahiya welcomed him with a symbol.
Prominent amongst those present on the occasion included Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Samrat Chaudhary, Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Kumar Sinha, Water Resources Minister Mr. Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Sports Minister Mr. Surendra Mehta, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Deepak Kumar, Chief Secretary Mr. Amrit Lal Meena, Director General of Police Mr. Vinay Kumar, and other senior officers and sportspersons.
