CM Nitish Kumar today laid the foundation stone of 2-lane widening and strengthening work of AIIMS Golambar-Janipur-Painapur Nave (Junction of Bihta Sarmera Patna Ring Road) (total length 10.5 km) at a cost of Rs. 138.5 crore related to the announcements made during Pragati Yatra in Patna district. The Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone for the construction of a flyover (length 1.015 km) at Naubatpur Lakh in the 17th km of Naubatpur-Masaurhi road at a cost of Rs. 73.06 crore.
During the program, the Chief Minister said that due to the connectivity of Bihta-Sarmera road in Newa, the people commuting to and from western Patna like Phulwarisharif, AIIMS, Danapur, Naubatpur etc. will get rid of the problem of traffic jams. With the construction of the flyover in Naubatpur Lakh, people will get relief from the congestion on Naubatpur Lakh. Also, it will be easier for the people of Patna to go to Masaurhi. There will be progress in industrial, economic and social development in this region.
It is to be noted that NH 0-139 four lane passes near AIIMS and passes through Babhanpura, Janipur, Akbarpur, Punpun Suraksha Dam and connects Bihta-Sarmera (6 lane), which will further speed up the development of Phulwarisharif, AIIMS, Danapur, Naubatpur etc. With the construction of the flyover in Naubatpur Lakh, commercial vehicles will save time in going from Patna to Masaurhi, Bikram etc.
Later, from the venue of the programme at Kothwan, Rupaspur Canal, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone of the four-lane (total length 6.9 km) widening and strengthening work of Khagaul-Nehru Path to Ashok Raj Path-Rupaspur Canal Path in Patna district at a cost of Rs. 71.48 crore. After laying the foundation stone, the Chief Minister said the Danapur-Bihta elevated road would benefit the entire population of the region. Patliputra railway station will also get better connectivity, which will be convenient for the passengers commuting here.
Later, CM Nitish laid the foundation stone for the construction work of Digha-AIMS-Patli road connecting Nehru Path towards Danapur at a cost of Rs. 143.86 crore from the venue of the programme under Patli Path on Nehru Path.
During this, the Chief Minister said that the people living in the areas from Digha to Khagaul will get the benefit of using the Patli Path. This will strengthen the traffic system of Nehru Path and make better use of Patli Path. J.P. Setu to reach AIIMS at No. Bau.367 11.08.2025 and will be easy. The traffic pressure on Nehru Path will be reduced and the problem of jams will be relieved.
The Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone for the construction and widening of the road along with the underground drain on both sides of Nehru Path (total length 2.7 km) from Rupaspur Canal to Saguna Morh in Patna district at a cost of Rs. 318.51 crore from the venue itself. It is to be noted that the western Patna region is developing very fast, for which a box culvert-cum-road is being constructed on the about 12-meter wide Kaccha Nullah located from Rupaspur to Saguna Mor to strengthen the traffic system.
From the venue, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for the widening and strengthening of Nehru Path to Gola Road (total length 2.20 km) at a cost of Rs. 21.35 crore. It is known that the development of the Gola Road area has been very fast. Many high-rise buildings and commercial establishments have come up in the area. At the same time, this route is used as the main route to the nearby residential areas and Danapur. Land is available for widening of this road.
During the program, CM Nitish said that it is a matter of great happiness that the foundation stone of 6 schemes of the Road Construction Department under Patna Urban (Western Region) related to the announcements made for Patna district during the Pragati Yatra has been laid. Begin work on these projects as soon as possible. He said that with the implementation of these schemes, the traffic will be much better for the common people in Patna Urban (Western Region) and the problem of congestion will be reduced. Also, it will be easy to reach J.P. Setu and AIIMS from Nehru Path via Patli Path. The widening of Gola Road will facilitate the residents of the newly developed area of western Patna.
