CM Nitish Kumar today remotely laid the foundation stone of 1327 schemes worth Rs 1002 crore under the Chief Minister’s Samagra Shahari Vikas Yojana. These schemes are being implemented by Bihar Urban Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (BUDCO). The event was held at the Integrated Command and Control Centre at Gandhi Maidan in Patna.
On the occasion, CM Nitish also inaugurated the scheme of Integration and Automation of Drainage Pumping Stations under Patna Smart City Project. With this, the drainage system of the city will be monitored from the control room.
In the programme, a short film prepared by the Urban Development Department was screened and CM Nitish also released a brochure related to the Urban Development Scheme. Secretary of the department Abhay Kumar Singh and Commissioner of Patna Municipal Corporation Animesh Parashar briefed the Chief Minister about the schemes.
It is noteworthy that under CM Nitish Comprehensive Urban Development Scheme launched in July 2024, schemes like construction and beautification of roads, drains, parks, ponds and ghats in urban areas are being run. District-level steering committees have been formed in all the districts, which are headed by the respective district in-charge ministers.
In 2024-25, an amount of Rs 400 crore has been allocated to all the districts based on the population of the municipal bodies. 624 schemes (roads, drains, parks, street lights etc) have been sanctioned in North Bihar and 703 schemes in South Bihar.
Prominent among present occasion included Additional Deputy Commissioners Vishesh Sarangal, Jasbir Singh, Assistant Commissioner Hardeep Singh, Deputy Director DBEE Jaswant Rai, DPO Gurminder Randhawa and others. Also, ministers and district magistrates of various districts of the state were connected through video conferencing.
