CM Pushkar Singh Dhami reached the Laksar disaster affected areas of Haridwar on a tractor amid heavy rains.
Amid the crisis situation due to heavy rains and natural calamity in the state, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami today first reached the Laksar disaster affected areas of Haridwar district.
Keeping aside the difficult circumstances, the Chief Minister reached out to the rural and marooned areas through tractors, conducted on-the-spot inspection and interacted directly with the affected families to know their problems. Chief Minister Dhami directed the district administration and disaster management officials present on the spot to expedite the relief and rehabilitation works immediately. He said that the affected people should be provided security, accommodation, food and health facilities and any negligence in the relief work will not be tolerated. “The state government stands with every affected citizen in this hour of crisis. We will provide all possible assistance and priority will be given to rescue operations. Every family affected by the disaster will be provided with as much assistance as possible from the government.
During the on-the-spot inspection by the Chief Minister, he visited villages in Laksar, Haridwar and took stock of water-logging, damaged roads, broken bridges and water-logged houses. During this time, he interacted with the disaster-affected families and inquired about their needs and assured that there will be no let-up in the relief work. The Chief Minister directed the officials to ensure adequate arrangements of food, water, medicines and sanitation in the relief camps. The families that need to be shifted should be sent to safer places. The process of compensation to farmers for crop loss should be started soon.
Medical facilities should be provided by setting up health camps as per requirement. Chief Minister Dhami’s visit has sent a positive message among the local people and they appreciated the promptness and sensitivity being shown by the government in this hour of crisis.
