CM Pushkar Dhami on Thursday interacted with the representatives of Yuva and Mahila Mangal parties from across the state as part of the Mukhya Sevak Samvad at the Mukhya Sevak Sadan at the Chief Minister’s residence. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister announced that the incentive for Mangal teams would be increased from Rs. 4 thousand to Rs. 5 thousand. A policy will be formulated to make Mars teams self-reliant and provide credit facilities. The Mars teams will be trained under the digital mission. A portal will be created at the state level, through which every youth and Mahila Mangal Dal will be connected with each other.
Appreciating the work being done by the Mangal Dals in the areas of social service, cultural preservation and disaster management, the Chief Minister said that the Mangal Dals were playing an important role in furthering the culture and traditions of Uttarakhand. The youth and women of Mangal Dal are playing an important role in strengthening the social consciousness of the state, cherishing the folk traditions and bringing positive changes in the villages. He said that Mangal Dal plays the role of ‘First Responder’ during disasters and is also at the forefront of public awareness campaigns. CM Pushkar said that the state government is running many schemes to empower Mangal parties. He said that financial assistance ranging from Rs. 50 thousand to Rs. 3.5 lakh is being provided to Mangal parties for self-employment. The Chief Minister said that a provision of Rs. 5 crore has been made under Mukhyamantri Yuva Mangal Dal Swavlamban Yojana, more than Rs. 2 crore under Mukhyamantri Rural Sports and Health Promotion Scheme and Rs. 60 crore under Mukhyamantri Swarojgar Yojana. An amount of Rs. 10 crore has been earmarked under the Chief Minister’s Migration Prevention Scheme. A provision of more than Rs. 21 crore has been made under Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Grameen Kaushalya Yojana for technical and vocational training of youth.
CM Pushkar said that the state government is also making continuous efforts to promote folk culture and financial assistance is being provided for organising local fairs and festivals.
