CM Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday laid the foundation stone of Gram Vikas Bhawan to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 58.32 crore at Danda Nooriwala Sahastradhara Road, Dehradun. He also planted a sapling in the premises on the occasion. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami while congratulating on the foundation stone of the integrated building of the Rural Development Department said that this building will prove to be important in the field of rural development. He said that in this building constructed at a cost of about Rs 58 crore, the major flagship schemes of the department will operate in a single campus.
CM Pushkar said that the state government is promoting local livelihood through the One Janpad, Two Product scheme and giving national and international recognition to its traditional products through the House of Himalaya brand. He informed that plans are being worked out to export the products of the state to major countries of the world. The government aims to achieve a turnover of Rs 25 crore by 2027, thereby connecting thousands of youth, women and self-help groups of the state with sustainable livelihoods. The Chief Minister said that the economy of the state is getting strengthened through initiatives like State Millet Mission, Farm Machinery Bank, Apple Mission, New Tourism Policy, New Film Policy, Home Stay, Wed in Uttarakhand and Solar Self Employment Scheme. Remote villages of the state are also creating their own unique identity through the Home Stay Scheme. Lakhpati Didi Yojana is empowering lakhs of women of the state financially. The Rural Business Incubator Center scheme has promoted self-employment and entrepreneurship in rural areas.
CM Pushkar said that the state government has developed various sectors like religious, adventure, ecotourism, wellness tourism, agro tourism and film tourism. He informed that the country’s first Yoga policy has been launched to establish the state as the global capital of Yoga. Four villages of the state namely Jakhol, Harshil, Gunji and Supi have also been awarded the Best Tourism Village Award by the Union Ministry of Tourism.
CM Pushkar said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, unprecedented work is being done in the rural development sector in the country. Rural areas have been strengthened socially and economically through several schemes like Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, MGNREGA, National Rural Livelihood Mission, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Swachhta Abhiyan. Under the guidance of the Prime Minister, the state government is also further strengthening the rural economy.
CM Pushkar said that he had adopted Sarkot village of summer capital Gairsain to make it a model village, in which the state government has succeeded. The people of Sarakot are moving fast in the field of animal husbandry, mushroom production, home stay, millet production. He said that 21-year-old Priyanka Negi of Sarakot has been elected as the youngest representative of the state in the results of the panchayat elections.
He said that soon he would invite Priyanka Negi and discuss about the development of other villages of the state including Sarkot. Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the state government also dedicates the projects for which the foundation stone is laid. The building will be inaugurated soon, he added. The building is built in the mountain style. Also, this new building will have a complete solar energy system. He informed that so far 1 lakh 65 thousand Lakhpati Didis have been created in the state under the Lakhpati Didi Yojana. Under the Deendayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana, 30,678 people have been trained, out of which about 19,600 people have got employment.
