CM Pushkar Singh Dhami launched Hello Haldwani 91.2 FM Community Radio Mobile App from the Chief Minister’s Camp Office on Friday. He said that this is an important initiative in the education and culture sector of Uttarakhand.
Uttarakhand Open University has done remarkable work in the direction of taking education to remote areas and promoting innovation through modern technology. CM Pushkar expressed confidence that now Community Radio Hello Haldwani App will further strengthen the voice of society and culture by reaching every corner of the country and the state. The Chief Minister said that education is not just a means to get a degree, but a basis to give direction to life and self-reliance. Under this thinking, higher education and skill development centers are being set up in all 13 districts of the state, so that the youth will not only get education but will also learn job-oriented skills.
The Chief Minister said that when universities and skill development centres work together, the youth of Uttarakhand will not become job seekers but job givers, and this effort will ensure the state’s key role in realising Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s resolve of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
The Chief Minister said that the state government has decided to set up a major centre of Uttarakhand Open University in Dehradun. This centre will not only be a hub of education and training, but will also become a major centre of research, innovation and digital education. Prof. Naveen Chandra Lohani, Vice-Chancellor, Uttarakhand Open University, apprised the Chief Minister of various activities of the University and presented a cheque of Rs. Higher Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, Director General UCOST Prof. Durgesh Pant, Registrar Uttarakhand Open University Shri Khemraj Bhatt and other officials of the University were present on the occasion.
