Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Dhami on Thursday virtually participated in the Mostamanu Festival.
CM Pushkar Dhami : On this occasion, he inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 15 development projects worth over ₹62 crore in Pithoragarh district. These projects cover key sectors such as healthcare, education, drinking water, and tourism.In his address, CM Pushkar Dhami said the Mostamanu fair is a symbol of faith, belief, and rich traditions. He added that it is not just a religious or cultural gathering but also an integral part of the state’s social and cultural fabric, reflecting the unique aspects of rural life linked to farming and animal husbandry. Such events, he emphasized, help preserve and pass on heritage to future generations.
Highlighting the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, CM Pushkar Dhami noted that remarkable efforts are being made to protect and promote India’s religious and cultural heritage. Under his guidance, Uttarakhand is witnessing all-round development, along with the reconstruction of pilgrimage sites and preservation of its identity. Similar to Kedarkhand, the temples of Mansakhand in Kumaon are also being revived and beautified.
For the beautification of the Mostamanu shrine itself, work worth about ₹1 crore has been carried out. Additionally, projects include the renovation of Hat Kalika Temple in Gangolihat at a cost of over ₹6 crore, and the development of modern parking facilities near Bajeti Shani Temple, Hanuman Temple, and Laxmi Narayan Temple with an investment of ₹43 crore.
The CM reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the holistic development of Pithoragarh and the entire region. Major initiatives include:

Construction of Pithoragarh Medical College building at a cost of over ₹750 crore.

A ₹21 crore, 50-bed Critical Care Block at the same medical college.

New bus stations in Askot, Gangolihat, and Dharchula, along with a Roadways Workshop in Pithoragarh at a cost of ₹25 crore.

Road development worth over ₹327 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana.

Air connectivity linking Pithoragarh with Haldwani, Dehradun, and Delhi.

An MoU between the state government and the Airport Authority of India for the modernization of Pithoragarh Airport at a cost of ₹450 crore.
The CM also echoed PM Modi’s call for greater use of swadeshi products to strengthen the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat. He expressed happiness that stalls at the fair showcased local handicrafts, farm produce, and women’s self-help group products. He urged people to embrace the mantra “Adopt Swadeshi, Strengthen the Nation.”

The event saw the presence of BJP district president Girish Joshi, former district panchayat chairperson Deepika Bora, SP Rekha Yadav, Pithoragarh Mayor Kalpana Dewlal, DFO Ashutosh Singh, Mela Committee Chairman Virendra Bora, other committee members, and a large number of devotees.
