CM Pushkar Dhami virtually inaugurates three air services of the state Launches helicopter service from Dehradun to Uttarkashi and Gauchar. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Thursday virtually launched the helicopter service from Sahastradhara (Dehradun) to Joshyada (Uttarkashi) and Sahastradhara (Dehradun) to Gauchar (Chamoli) and Delhi to Pithoragarh flight service under the Uttarakhand Air Connectivity Scheme from the Chief Minister’s residence. Speaking on the occasion, he said that air services are going to be a milestone in the development of the state, so the government is constructing heliports at 18 places under the UDAN scheme.

CM Pushkar Dhami expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Union Civil Aviation Minister Shri Rammohan Naidu for their support in launching these services. The Chief Minister said that these three projects are going to prove to be very important for our state, with the launch of these services, the tourism and economic development in the state will get a boost as well as the people of the border area of Pithoragarh will get a new and better option to reach the capital of the country. With the commencement of these air services, emergency and disaster management operations will also gain momentum.

The Chief Minister said that the launch of helicopter service from Dehradun Sahastradhara to Joshyada and Gauchar under the Uttarakhand Air Connectivity Scheme is a historic achievement for our state. Now the journey from Dehradun to Joshyada will be completed in just 40 minutes and the journey to Gauchar in just 50 minutes. He said that this step will prove to be a milestone in the development of our hilly region.

Chief Minister Dhami said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi had launched the visionary scheme UDAN a few years ago with the aim of enabling the common man to travel by air. This scheme has also contributed significantly in strengthening air connectivity in Uttarakhand. At present, 18 heliports are being developed in the state under the UDAN scheme. Out of which, 10 heliports have been successfully commissioned so far. These heli services have successfully connected important areas like Srinagar, Haldwani, Munsiyari, Pithoragarh, Pantnagar, Champawat and Almora. In the coming time, efforts will also be made to connect other important areas of the state with heli services. Chief Minister Dhami said that while earlier it used to take hours to cross the inaccessible paths of the mountains, now we will be able to reach the remote mountainous areas easily within an hour.

The launch of these air services will not only boost tourism in our rural areas but will also create new employment opportunities for local businesses, homestays and youth. Realizing the importance of air connectivity, the state government is paying special attention to promote domestic flights. Sharma, Former Chief Minister and Former Governor of Maharashtra Mr. Bhagat Singh Koshyari, Union Minister of State Mr. Ajay Tamta, MLAs Mr. Suresh Singh Chauhan, Mr. Anil Nautiyal, District Magistrate Uttarkashi Dr. Meharban Singh Bisht, District Magistrate Chamoli Dr. Sandeep Tiwari and District Magistrate Pithoragarh Mr. Vinod Giri Goswami. Sahastradhara Gauchar Helicopter Service This service will take about 50 minutes. From Sahastradhara, the helicopter will leave for Gauchar at 0930 hrs and return to Sahastradhara from Gauchar at 1040 hrs. This service of Pawan Hans will be 6 days a week from Monday to Saturday. Till 20th November 2024, its per person one way fare will be Rs.3,000 and thereafter Rs.3,600 per person.

SahastradharaJoshiara Heli Service This service will take about 40 minutes. From Sahastradhara, the helicopter will leave for Joshyada at 12.00 noon and return to Sahastradhara from Joshyada at 01.00 noon. This service of Pawan Hans will be 6 days a week from Monday to Saturday. Till 20th November 2024, the fare per person on one side will be Rs.3,000 and thereafter Rs.3,300 per person. The Delhi NainiSaini (Pithoragarh) flight will be operated by Alliance Air.The service will be operational 3 days a week (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday). This flight journey from Delhi to Pithoragarh will take about 1 hour 25 minutes. The flight will depart from Delhi for Pithoragarh at 0920 hrs and return to Delhi from Pithoragarh at 1115 hrs. Its fare has been fixed at Rs 2499 per person till 14th November 2024, while the fare from Delhi to Pithoragarh has been fixed at Rs 6999 and from Pithoragarh to Delhi at Rs 7447 per person with effect from 16th November.
