The Chief Minister felicitated women self-help groups in the Chief Minister Empowered Bahana Utsav Yojana programme. ‘House of Himalayas’ to get global market Chief Minister More than 1.63 lakh women in the state ‘Lakhpati Didi’ will get 15 thousand entrepreneurs in three years CM Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday felicitated and interacted with women self-help groups who have done commendable work under the Mukhya Mantri Sashakt Bahana Utsav Yojana at the Mukhya Sevak Sadan at the Chief Minister’s residence.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister launched the mascot and logo of Mukhyamantri Udyamshala Yojana and launched new products and website of House of Himalayas. The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is constantly working for the welfare and empowerment of the Matri Shakti. Schemes like 33 per cent reservation for women in Parliament and state assemblies, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Abhiyan, Ujjwala Yojana and Lakhpati Didi have worked towards making women self-reliant. When a woman is economically empowered, she works to empower the entire society. The Chief Minister said that the State Government is also continuously working for the welfare of Matri Shakti. From education and health to entrepreneurship and jobs, efforts have been made to ensure greater participation of women in the state. Through the Rural Livelihood Mission, work is being done to make rural women of the state self-reliant. New opportunities are being provided to Matrishakti through Sashakt Bahana Utsav Yojana and Mukhyamantri Mahila Self Help Group Sashaktikaran Yojana. Under the Mukhyamantri Udyamshala Yojana, incubation facility will be provided to more than 15 thousand entrepreneurs, self-help groups and lakhpati didis in the next three years. Under this, they will be provided vocational skills training, legal and licensing support, coworking space, investment support and a strong network for marketing from local to global level.
CM Pushkar said that under the visionary leadership of the Prime Minister, under the initiative of Vocal for Local and Local for Global, the House of Himalayas umbrella brand has been created in the state to realize the resolve of Lakhpati Didi and to give global recognition to local products. At present, 35 high-quality products are being delivered to the people. Soon the products of House of Himalayas will also be exported to other countries of the world. He said that about 5 lakh women are doing their business through 68 thousand Self Help Groups in the state. Through the Mukhyamantri Sashakt Bahana Utsav Yojana launched in 2023, our sisters have sold products worth more than Rs 7 crore by setting up more than 27 thousand stalls in various events. More than 1 lakh 63 thousand sisters of the state have become lakhpatis.
49 growth centres have been set up for processing and marketing of products made by women self-help groups. For effective marketing of these products, 33 Nano Packaging Units, 17 Saras Centres, 3 State Level Marketing Centres and 8 Bakery Units are also being operated in 13 districts. Under the central government’s One Station, One Product scheme, special centres have been set up at Dehradun and Haridwar railway stations for the sale of products of women self-help groups. Seema Kumari of Almora said that she has earned Rs 18 lakh in the last five years by taking advantage of various schemes of the state government. Daya Danu of Bageshwar said that 400 women are associated with her self-employment and in one year, all of them have earned a profit of Rs 1 crore. Hema Upadhyay of Champawat said that they are working on agro tourism. Through poly houses and homestays, they are getting an income of Rs 4 lakh every year. She had fled with her husband during the Corona period. Rekha Negi from Chamoli said that through the stall they are getting good income on local products.
Kiran Rana from Dehradun said that she has benefited a lot from mushroom production and 34 women are working with her. Chhavi from Haridwar said she had taken a loan of Rs 10 lakh for the restaurant, on which she got a subsidy of Rs 6 lakh. Kiran Joshi of Nainital said that she has done a business of Rs 8 lakh in the last 9 months from the silk products made by her.
