On this occasion, the Chief Minister praised the work of hot mixing of roads of Medical College New Tehri, construction of multi parking in New Tehri, construction of sports ground in the district headquarters and drinking water pumping scheme for Tehri Chamba area with a 50 year perspective. Announced construction work.The Chief Minister also honored the winners who stood first in the overall championship of the canoeing competition and stood first and second in the men’s and women’s categories by presenting them with trophies and medals.
The Chief Minister said that it is a matter of pride that the third Tehri Water Sports Cup is being organized successfully in Tehri Dam Reservoir. CM Pushkar said Tehri Lake energy production, Along with water management, tourism and adventure sports are also playing an important role in increasing the economy and employment of our state. It is the government’s effort to organize such programs here from time to time.So that along with adventure sports, tourism activities can also be promoted. Such events also strengthen our employment and economy. By organizing such competitions in the coming 12 months, Tehri region will achieve new records in the field of development.
The Chief Minister said that sports, along with physical and mental development, also develops a sense of discipline among the players and sports develop qualities like fighting spirit. Fit India, under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to promote sports in the country, Many programs like Khelo India were started through which the sports culture in the country has been encouraged. CM Pushkar said that under the able leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India is today touching new heights in the field of sports. And is creating a new identity for itself at the national and international level. The state government is also continuously making efforts to enhance the talent of the youth in the state to advance them. The Chief Minister said that the state government has implemented a new sports policy with the aim of encouraging sports and sportspersons. Players who have won national and international medals are also being given out-of-turn jobs.
The Chief Minister is working to encourage players through schemes like Sports Development Policy, Chief Minister Players Promotion Scheme, Chief Minister Budding Players Scheme, Sports Kit Scheme etc.Players are being honored through Uttarakhand Khel Ratna Award and Himalaya Khel Ratna Award. 4 percent sports quota for players in government services has been reintroduced in the state.,So that the hard work of the players gets proper opportunity and justice is done to their talent.
The Chief Minister said that a sports university is going to be built in the state soon. With this, world class training and sports facilities will be available to our players.CM Pushkar said that Uttarakhand has the honor of hosting the 38th National Games. For which infrastructure is being developed. Surely Devbhoomi will now also be known as sports ground, The Chief Minister said that the 38th National Games will be based on the Green Games theme. The 38th National Games organized in the state will be historic and will also give a new identity to the state at the world level.
CM Pushkar said that three G20 meetings have been successfully held in the state, out of which two meetings were held in Tehri.
