CM Pushkar Singh Dhami: A Pravasi Uttarakhand Parishad will be formed in the state. The Chief Minister made the announcement at the “Pravasi Uttarakhandi Sammelan” at Doon University. The logo of Uttarakhand Silver Jubilee Year was released. The Chief Minister appealed to the people to contribute to the development of the state.
Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami welcomed all the Pravasi Uttrakhandis at the “Pravasi Uttarakhandi Sammelan” at Doon University. The Chief Minister first paid tributes to those who lost their lives in the bus accident in Almora district and wished speedy recovery to the injured.
The Chief Minister said that the migrants associated with the soil of Uttarakhand have made their mark at the national and international level in various fields including education, research, bureaucracy, film production, industry, trade. National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan are from Uttarakhand. Shri Vipin Rawat, India’s first Chief of Defence Staff, was also from this land. “The culture of Uttarakhand is unique in itself. Our diaspora is promoting their language and culture in different states of the country.
The Chief Minister said that in the last three years, he got the opportunity to meet the people of the hill society in many states of the country and he felt that Uttarakhand, which is settled within our diaspora, is always with them. He never left the language, culture and sanskars of Uttarakhand. This Pravasi Uttarakhandi Sammelan is an attempt to reconnect everyone with the soil of Uttarakhand. This is such a gathering where all the migrant brothers and sisters will not only be able to interact with the state officials but they are also getting the opportunity to meet other Uttarakhandi migrants living in different states. He hoped that the message emanating from here will reach millions of Uttarakhandi migrants.
The Chief Minister said that Uttarakhand is also playing its important role in fulfilling the resolve of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to make India a developed nation by 2047. With the guidance and support of the Prime Minister, the infrastructure of all major sectors including education, health, connectivity, drinking water is being strengthened rapidly in the state. The work on the Rishikesh-Karanprayag railway line is also going on at a rapid pace. Air connectivity is being strengthened. By bringing more than 30 new policies, Uttarakhand has become conducive for investment and employment generation. Work is also being done with priority in the field of science and technology in the state.
The Chief Minister said that many tough and historic decisions have been taken in the interest of the state. The UCC law will be implemented in the state soon. The country’s strictest anti-copying law, anti-conversion law and anti-riot law have been implemented. A campaign has also been launched against land jihad and more than 5000 acres of government land has been freed from illegal occupation across the state. Uttarakhand has been ranked first in the country in the index of Sustainable Development Goals released by NITI Aayog. The state is in the category of Achievers in Ease of Doing Business and Leaders in Startup Ranking. The unemployment rate has decreased by 4.4 percent in one year. To give a boost to film production in the state, the Cabinet also approved a new film policy which provides for various subsidies on shooting of films in the state.
The Chief Minister said that a dedicated website is also being prepared for the purpose of providing various information about the state to the migrant Uttarkhandis and to solve their problems. The Chief Minister appealed to all the migrants to visit their village and ancestral home at least once in a year and contribute to the development of their area as per their expertise. Based on your suggestions and actions, specific policies will be worked out. He hoped that the nectar that will come out of today’s brainstorming will definitely help in making Uttarakhand the best state in the country.
Former Chief Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said that this is a proud moment, today the migrant Uttarakhandis have made a mark in every corner of the country on the strength of their struggle and hard work. He said Uttarakhand is making rapid progress in every field. There are many job opportunities in the state.
MLA Shri Vinod Chamoli said that the state of Uttarakhand was established after great struggles. There is a very good work environment in the state. We all have to make collective efforts for the development of the state. Smt. Sushma Kharkwal, Pravasi Uttarakhandi and Mayor Lucknow said that it is her good fortune that she got the opportunity to attend the Pravasi Sammelan. “For me, Uttarakhand is my motherland. This land is rich in talent. Expatriate Uttarakhandi and actress Himani Shivpuri said regional films should be promoted in the state. Such events will act as a bridge to promote folk art and culture of Uttarakhand. Shri Sunil Barthwal, Secretary Commerce, Government of Uttarakhand and Government of India said that the idea of migrants adopting their village is very commendable. He said that he would extend all possible support to the state and become a partner for the development of his motherland. He said Uttarakhand has a lot of potential in the field of organic produce. their national and international demands.
