Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami has made a significant announcement for the residents of the state’s border areas, launching a new initiative aimed at boosting infrastructure and development. Speaking at the 4th Himalayan Border Children’s Science Festival in Guptkashi, Rudraprayag, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami declared the formation of the Border Area Development Council (Seema Kshetra Vikas Parishad) to strengthen services and amenities in border regions.
The CM Pushkar Singh Dhami emphasized that the newly formed council will work towards improving essential infrastructure such as healthcare, disaster management, and education in remote border districts. He underlined the importance of bringing government services closer to people living in high-altitude and hard-to-reach areas.
Innovation and Youth Empowerment
During the event, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami also interacted with child scientists from various districts, engaging in discussions on critical topics like climate change, water conservation, and disaster preparedness. He highlighted the government’s commitment to supporting these young talents with better opportunities for innovation and development.

Science City Coming Soon in Dehradun
The CM Pushkar Singh Dhami also announced that Dehradun will soon house the country’s fifth Science City, a major scientific and educational infrastructure project that will put Uttarakhand on the map for science and innovation. He noted that this will offer valuable learning and innovation opportunities for students and researchers across the region.
Foundation Stone Laid for ‘Way Side Amenity’ Project in Champawat
On the same day, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami laid the foundation stone and performed the Bhoomi Pujan for a Way Side Amenity project in Amodi, Champawat, which will be developed at a cost of ₹1.60 crore. The project is seen as a critical step towards the realization of the “Adarsh Champawat” (Model Champawat) initiative.
CM Pushkar Singh Dhami stated that the development of roadside amenities will strengthen tourism infrastructure while creating employment opportunities for local youth and women. The project will include clean rest areas, local product outlets, and information kiosks to promote regional culture and tourism.
